  • Who's a Good Boy (now)? Your Picky Dog, Thanks to ORIJEN Dog Senior Recipe hahah but seriously
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Senior Size: 25lb
If you have a senior dog who is a picky eater, then you know how challenging it can be to find a high-quality dog food that they will actually eat. That's why I was so pleasantly surprised when my dog not only ate but also loved ORIJEN Dog Senior Recipe. This nutritious dog food is made with fresh meats, fish, fruits, and vegetables, which makes it an excellent source of essential nutrients for your senior pup. Plus, it's grain-free and packed with protein to help keep your furry friend healthy and happy. What really sets ORIJEN Dog Senior Recipe apart from other dog foods is its commitment to using only the best possible ingredients. All of the meats used in this recipe are fresh or raw and come from a variety of sources, including free-run chicken and turkey, whole eggs, wild-caught fish, and more. As someone with a picky eater on my hands, I can tell you that finding a food that my dog loves is nothing short of miraculous. But with ORIJEN Dog Senior Recipe, my dog gobbles up every bite without any coaxing from me. Overall, I highly recommend ORIJEN Dog Senior Recipe to anyone looking for a healthy and delicious dog food for their senior pup. It's been great seeing my picky dog finally enjoy his meals while also knowing he's getting all the nutrients he needs to stay healthy. ... show more

  • My happy, healthy dogs LOVE this kibble!
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Six Fish Size: 4.5lb
My dogs LOVE this kibble! They are 3 and 4 years old. One of my dogs is grain sensitive and used to have non-stop rashes and itchy skin (and diarrhoea and gas with corn based products before I knew better - dogs can't digest corn, yet many brands contain it because it is a cheap by-product) Since I switched to the diet outlined below they haven't had a day sick, a single tummy upset or a skin rash. Previously, I also struggled with them being a bit too heavy. I didn't want to cut them down any more because they were always SO hungry. Since switching to the diet outlined below, I have no problem maintaining thier weight and they are no longer hungry between meals. I rotate my dogs through the various flavors. My vet said that it is best not to rely on one protein source as dogs may get food sensitivities and/or bored with it. I used to buy the Orijen Arcana but don't anymore because it is lower protein. I give my dogs fresh produce (fresh raw chopped vegetables once a day, and tiny quantities of fruit (I always check what dogs can and cannot have before giving them any produce) so they don't need the higher percentage of dried fruit and vegetables included the Arcana kibble. My vet recommended this to help fill them up and it works. I also mix this kibble with Primal raw frozen nuggets (also alternating the Primal proteins each time I buy a bag) so they get raw meat with every meal, and they get one raw meaty bone each week (I buy the Primal bones from Pet Club). I felt weird about giving them dry kibble alone as that might be convenient for us, but I feel that it would be like us eating protein/energy type bars for every meal. I strongly feel that dogs (and humans) need fresh, raw ingredients too. I also give my dogs a spoonful of lactose free (a lot of dogs can't digest lactose) plain yogurt with one meal a day. One of my rescues came to me with a yeast infection due to the gross diet (you don't want to know) she was subjected to, at the very shonky "rescue" place. Our vet put her on a couple of courses of probiotics and recommended I give her yogurt each day to cure the infection. They both loved it so I saw no reason to stop. The probiotics and calcium can only be a good thing in my opinion, and if I run out they sit by thier bowls waiting after they eat, 'cause they know its missing! For treats I give them Canidae Grain Free dog treats as they are very low calorie, small, firm, chewy treats that can be put in your pocket without them disintegrating during a walk or training. It took me a lot of time to sort out what worked best for us. I am not an expert, but my dogs love their food and my vet says that they are in perfect health and at the perfect weight, and that their diet couldn't be better, so perhaps this info might help someone put together a complete diet for their dog. Here is what I feed them twice a day: All dogs are different, but my 18lb dog (who was a slightly overweight 21lb dog before this diet) gets: - 1/4 cup Orijen kibble twice a day. -1 thawed primal meat nugget twice a day. I rotate through the various Primal Frozen meat nuggets. You can also buy these freeze dried and reconstitute them with water but I much prefer giving them the raw primal nuggets (I put 4 in a pyrex container in the fridge each night and they are defrosted enough for the next day) In the morning I add a spoonful of plain lactose-free yogurt to thier dishes. And in the evening I add about 1/4 cup produce instead of the yogurt. Generally a mix of two items - either chopped green beans, cucumber, broccoli, carrots, cooked squash (I use canned organic non-sweetened, plain - beware pie pumpkin with spices) red, yellow, green peppers, a little romaine, other leafy greens - sometimes a couple blueberries, pieces of apple, orange, pineapple, melon etc. My 11lb dog gets exactly the same except she gets a bit less than half of of the kibble that I give 18lb dog at each meal. Once a week I give them their dinner minus the primal frozen nugget and then give them a raw meaty lamb or beef bone or marrow bone (Primal brand) which they gnaw on for hours. It helps clean their teeth too. I also keep a couple of cans of sardines in the cupboard for when I run out of the primal frozen nuggets or forget to defrost them, or simply as a way of alternating their diet. I simply add one sardine each to the kibble. Sardines are excellent for dogs and my dogs love them! Be sure to purchase the ones packed in spring water with NO salt added (grab a couple when they are on sale) I also occasionally give them a raw egg which they also love. They love that too. Sometimes if I see a pack of 50% off meat at the store, I will give them some diced raw beef or lamb with their kibble (I chop it and freeze it in meal sized portions to alternate with the kibble. Hope this info is of use to someone. If so, please click "helpful" as I spend a lot of time on my reviews hoping to perhaps help someone, and I also believe in supporting great products! I am happy to answer any questions. I couldn't be happier with the quality of this kibble. ... show more

  • Love it
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Regional Red Size: 4.5lb
I won't feed my dog any other dry food. He loves it and it's great quality. No stomach aches and I don't have to feed him alot because the food has such great ingredients that he only needs a cup a day, he's 20# lbs.

  • Best dog food ever!!
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Senior Size: 4.5lb
Even though it’s pricey the quality is there and it’s something my dog loves. She will eat the kibble as a treat she loves it so much. I use the senior mix because I know my older dog is getting all the special vitamins and minerals she needs as she ages.

  • Good Food - Poor Bag Design
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Original Size: 25lb
The food and quality is great. The bag does not reseal - which is frustrating. Having to either buy a container to keep it in or find a large enough clip to keep it closed was surprising for how much it costs and the quality of the bag. I have other food brands that have high quality bags and they reseal. I will probably go back to the other brand because or the bag design. ... show more

  • Not People Food But Presumably Delicious
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Senior Size: 13lb
Our dachshund has a lot of allergies. As he gets older, he seems to be reacting to more things, including other foods. We have had to switch back to Orijen a couple of times to get his skin to clear up. At this point, we are sticking with Orijen. It's worth the extra cost for him not to be miserable. Our dog seems to happily eat it, whereas he scoffs at other dog food. We can only assume that means he finds it delicious. ... show more

  • This food actually surprised me
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Senior Size: 4.5lb
This food was all of the dogs favorite, typically they don't eat the whole bowl at one sitting, but each of them cleared the bowl at least once.

  • My dog loves this
Style: Grain-Free Food Flavor Name: Small Breed Size: 10lb
The only thing I don’t like about this is it’s grain free, my vet said grain free can cause heart problems, but will buy a bag that’s not grain free, my little one loves it, she Pom, and the bite size is just right for her tiny mouth
