    • Fun set! Fairly easy to use, can be quite messy!
I love finding different art and creative sets for my kids to use and thought this one would be fun. I think it's a really neat idea. I've seen several projects done this way before but hadn't tried any myself. I think that overall, this is a good set. It obviously has the potential to be pretty messy. My older child finished up without any issues. My younger one looked like she was her own tie dyed project. It is what it is. I do think it would be better if the kit came with more paper or projects to do. With only 2 and one of them being 3d vs paper, it's hard to do with 2 kids and it doesn't take much time to do vs setup, etc. Thankfully, I had some cardstock so we did some "notecards" also. For the price, and to have something extra for a summer day, I think this is worth the fairly low cost. ... show more

This was fun very easy to use. Came with everything you needed. Just add a little water and you get it! I think it was awesome especially for the price.

    • M'eh....messy and gross...and did I say messy?
I've had these kind of swirl craft things before, decades ago. This one from Original Stationery Store looked interesting. Once it was all out and we realized how wet, greasy, and kind of a mess it was, it was more of a hassle than fun. Granted, the teen enjoyed it, but the paper gets exceedingly wet and takes days (literally) to dry. Add to that the fact that the concoction that is critical comes in a limited amount, so once you start adding colors (or, your child who has limited understanding of the concept) and you realize that they all add up to a gross brownish-greenish-gray, then you realize that you'd have to start all over. In short, it's a disappointing presentation of a cool idea. The vase was the coolest and I wish they'd a) include more of the magic tonic and b) more vases. ... show more

My daughter just turned 7. The recommended age for this is 6+ as it can get quite messy. Make sure you have a designated space and protect tables with the included table cover but also protect clothing before beginning by donning aprons. Gloves might not be a bad idea either. You can even do this outdoors just weight the paper and clip the table cover down in wind. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The carageenan base solution is no wait then just add drops of color and place the A5 paper down then lift up with the tweezers! It’s got lots of combs, frames and accessories. The bix is nice so this would make a great gift. My daughter is very creative and loves stuff like this. She also loves making gifts and art for her friends and family and takes pride in her art. My late mother was an artist and I have fond memories doing stuff like this with her so we have a room in our home dedicated to arts and crafts. Swirl on groovy people! ... show more

This Original Stationary rainbow marbling Kit is such a cool art activity. The actual creating of the marbled papers is a blast. And then we get to use the papers, either to write on, or as mini gift wrap, or to collage with... Very nice how all you need is included besides water.

    • Fun but so messy!
My kids had so much fun with this but what a mess! I had them do it outside which helped. Unfortunately the paper gets so wet with paint that it takes forever to dry and then it curls on the edges a bit which bothered one kid but not the other.

This would make a great gift. Did it with my kids after school as a fun project … it’s not too messy and it makes for great fun. There are enough supplies for two kids to participate. I can reccommend.
