I preferred not to purchase the first 4 albums again,so I discovered this gem.The first 4 great albums and the 5th with the World Topping single "I Want To Know What Love Is" .I have almost worn out my favorite "Double Vision",with some wear to debut and of course "4" If you are a diehard fan like me,you will not be disappointed in the least. ... show more

    • It Feels Like the First Time
This set brought me back. Listening to these discs literally brought me back to the first time I heard Foreigner. It is a nice, well priced set if you don’t mind the cardboard cd holders.

    • Recommended for any Foreigner Fan or lover of 80's Rock Music
I have been a fan of Foreigner from since their first self tile album in 1977. Foreigner was one of the bands that ruled the late seventies into the mid eighties with great songs like, "Feels like the first time" "Cold as ice" Hot blooded" "Head games" "Dirty white boy" "Juke box hero" "Urgent" "Waiting for a girl like you" and "I want to know what love is". Their music covered a lot of ground from hard hitting rock and roll, to big production love ballads and everything in between. They were not afraid to experiment. But the driving and cohesive forces behind the sounds was always Mick Jones song writing and Lou Gramm's voice. Lou's vocal and emotional range made you believe every word he sang was sincere. When he said he was a dirty white boy, you could have felt his sticky dirt and sweat and when he asked to show you what love is, you just wanted to wrap him up and take him home. Few lead singer in this genre can evoke such range and emotion with their voice. Lou Gramm is the voice of Foreigner!!!! This collection has allowed me to sit and enjoy some great music from an era long gone. I had all these albums in vinyl over the years, but when time came to convert to CD, I took the easy way out financially and just bought the greatest hits collect. However, this collection now allows me to have my cake and eat it too, cause I get 5 original albums at a fraction of the cost. The collection consist of the first 5 albums by Foreigner covering their most successful chart albums from 1977 to 1984. The collection shows the steady growth of the band and their versatility over the years. I would highly recommend this collection to any Foreigner fan or anybody that likes 80's rock music. The recording quality is good. Only disappointing feature was that each CD comes in a miniature version of the original jacket of the vinyl recording which all neatly fits into a box not much bigger than a CD jewel case, thus there is no room for any booklet or liner notes on the cds. ... show more

    • All You Need!
Foreigner is NOT Foreigner without Lou Gramm! This 5 CD set is almost complete, only missing "Inside Information" If you're a Lou Gramm and Foreigner completist, buy this one as well! Foreigner is way too good for a "best of" or "greatest hits" collection. ENJOY!!!

    • Correction: Not the expanded versions
Contrary to what the description says, this 5 disc Foreigner "Original Album Series" does not contain the expanded editions of these albums. Otherwise it is a nice collection of their 5 best albums. These are the regular WEA/Rhino versions without any bonus tracks. On the other hand the Sony "Original Album Classics" sets do contain the newest versions of the albums with bonus tracks (if any). Both the WEA's "Original Album Series" and Sony's "Original Album Classics" series are designed to be good value catalog collections, not collector's box sets. Neither company is claiming they remaster any of these titles specifically for these packages. In the case of Sony's titles, if there is a remastered version available that is the one they use. Both series are put together by the labels' catalog divisions, not the artists. For less than $45 you get 5 full length albums by an artist. That's a good deal. ... show more
