This ORIGIN POINT GARD'N BORDER FOLDING FENCE (32" high x 10' long) is a decorative, lightweight metal fence that's easy to set up in your yard or garden. You can use it to surround a flower bed, alongside a pathway (to keep visitors on the straight and narrow), or in many other places. Just don't make my mistake: 32" is the height of the fence, not the length of each folding section. My fence--just a single section of it--is set up next to the sidewalk that leads to my front door. It prevents an entrance gate from swinging back too far and crushing the flowers in the bed beside the gate. For this purpose, the 32" height is okay, but if I had understood the product description, I would have purchased the 24" high fence instead (see "Origin Point 052410 Gard'n Border Round Folding Fence, White, 24-Inch x 10-Feet"). These folding fences can easily be shortened, using only a flat screwdriver (to pry with) and pliers. They're intended to hook together into a circle, but you can buy two or more units and hook them together in straight lines, squares, or circles. The metal is about as thick and strong as a wire coat hanger, so all you need is a hack saw for removing unwanted connector extensions. The prongs that hold the fence upright go easily into the ground. Just bear in mind that this fence is mostly decorative, and it can easily be bent or knocked over by children or large pets. ... show more

This is one of those things that it depends entirely on what you will use this for - it is wire and therefore not very sturdy but if it's to keep out a fairly obedient dog then just its appearance is an adequate disincentive. This is an ideal fence for my intended purpose. My boxer dog recently suffered a knee injury and a ramp was installed. I needed something that would prevent her from jumping off the sides of the ramp. She is used to seeing these as I have them around my garden and also around a few trees in the yard. I needed something at least 28 " high and wasn't concerned about the gaps between the fence. Installed in a matter of minutes on both sides and she went down and back up without a problem. I will update this after the snow flies, however. I pushed the fence in about 1/2" and am in hopes that when the frost hits the ground that the fence stays down in the position it was placed. Most highly recommended. Edited on 19 April 2015.. Well, still have some snow around the bottom of the fence but I can say that this fence stayed in the ground and did an excellent job as being protector of the dog ramp. When the small garden goes in, will place this around that.... Edited on 25 September...Worked well again this past year and am now getting ready to put it into the shed for the winter. Bought an additional piece a few months ago and am using that one around the peony bed. ... show more

I purchased these for flowers that were being transplanted. They took a few days to come in, so I thought I would do all the "work" before hand, and just sit these in when they arrived. In the course of those few days heavy rains washed and swept away the soil, compost, and mulch. Back to the story, and in the process I purchased cement scalloped edging and re-planted the bulbs. The Garden Borders arrived while I was outside working. They are gorgeous, and were perfect to sit behind the cement edging that was now newly installed. They are plastic, and easy to put together. I am having Bermuda grass shoot up, and these are easy to maneuver around and pull weeds. Beautiful pieces layered! The edging looks nice but I have to keep picking it up off the ground and clipping the pieces back together. It doesn't hold up well with any kind of wind. I like this little fence, it is plastic but seems strong. Better two people install it as the more pieces put together the wobblier it gets until stuck in the ground. If the soil is real dry it is hard to push the stakes in - moisten it some and they go right in. Looks good in my yard. This product shipped really fast with Amazon Prime and it was well packaged. My dogs like to knock it over at times as well. I bought these last summer and they are still holding up this spring. I didn’t dig them up or anything. I just kept them in my flower beds. I use it to discourage trespassing by children and cats. It was easy to install; and, although it's a little flimsy, it's sturdy enough to serve its purpose. It's not bad looking either.
