So far, I have really enjoyed this stencil vinyl. It does what it needs to do. It took me a while to find a stencil vinyl that actually does what it is supposed to do. I've ordered other products claiming to be Oramask 813, but those products don't work nearly as well as this one. Other products either allow the paint to bleed under the stencil (even after a light layer of Mod Podge over the stencil) or pull up the paint/wood from underneath (even when removing the stencil against the grain). It is extremely frustrating to have an almost complete project, just to have the stencil mess it all up. I'm not sure if they're false brands or something, but this is the only product I'll order for stencil vinyl anymore because it is the only one I've found to not make me want to rip my hair out by the end of a project. Definitely recommend this over any other stencil vinyl products I've tried on Amazon. ... show more

I have tried several alternatives, including plain old masking tape, for making stencils for painting designs on wood. The last thing I used was a different brand that was $2 cheaper for the same amount of material - the other stuff was totally opaque (which isn't good when you're trying to do color blocked stencils) and pulled up some wood fibers when I tried to remove it. The Oramask is definitely worth the extra $2. It's not 100% transparent, but translucent enough to see any designs that it is put over. It sticks enough that it blocks paint or stain from bleeding underneath it, but it doesn't remove existing wood fibers or paint and it doesn't leave any residue. Creates really crisp paint lines. I recommend it highly. I can't show the full images of my projects, but the attached photos show how well this film works. ... show more

Can’t beat the fast shipping from Amazon when in a pinch, but I find the edges are fringed - allowing small pieces to mess up my cutting tool. Also there has been significant bubbling at the last few feet of the roll. Useable, but a pain

    • GO TO PRODUCT FOR MAKING STENCILS WITH CRICUT EXPLORE!
This is my go-to product for making stencils with my cricut. It is NOT the greatest for really small or intricate designs, but if you're a patient it works! The adhesive on back is perfect and doesn't peel up your paint . It cuts on the standard "vinyl" setting on my Cricut Explore. Occasionally I will run into the "air bubble"issue, but it can easily be fixed! I've also found that sealing the stencil with either mod podge or your background color before stenciling ensures there is LITTLE TO NO BLEEDING! Highly recommend for experienced cricut/silhouette users. Might not be the best material for beginners though. ... show more

If used correctly works great! I used it and got clean lines. I’m cheap and wanted to conserve material so I used some paper on the thinner areas.

    • Use a roller to press it tight against the surface
Needs to come with a rubber band or something to keep it rolled up after using it.
