  • Does the job but has minor issues.
Color: Btm-od Green Size: 126" x 50"
Being an avid Hammock camper this was something that I just had to give a try to. The price made it affordable and taking a chance on it wouldn't be costly if I did not like it. But, after using it I find that it does have a place in my camping adventures. It is very light weight and does the job of blocking the wind as well as containing the heat within quite well. Getting into the sock is easy. You just lift the bottom and rotate it up to the side of the hammock. Then just enter the hammock as you generally would. Then just rotate it around until it is in position. Pull the draw string below to close up the bottom. Now, all is not perfect and when closing that bottom causes the sock to self rotate bringing the vent around with one under the hammock. No cross venting can occur. It's a balance thing. So with that in mind I leave the bottom open a little. Fortunately I have an underquilt to protect from insect bites through the hammock. The build quality is marginal at best. While it is made well enough to work properly it has been sewn as if an amature did some of the work. Around the vents the work is terrible and there are a few other locations with issues. They are scattered around the sock but none of them cause the sock to not do the job intended. My hammock has a built in bug net but I also have hammocks without the bug netting. If used with a hammock without netting I found that the sides of the sock hang down on ones face. It can be uncomfortable. Generally, I will say that the design is fairly well done though. But do keep in mind that it is a budget item and the workmanship matchs its price. Lastly, I ordered it in early April in order to use it at an event in late May. The thing did not arrive until early June. Way too long to wait for something like this. It has nothing to do with the product but it does upset the customer. Bottom line, It is worth the price and does do the job that i want it to do. Yes, I would purchase again. ... show more

Very small and lightweight so great for hammock camping. Works perfectly in high winds. Definitely keeps the drafts out.

  • Nice feature and quality but theres one Caveat
Color: Btm-camo Size: 126" x 50"
The media could not be loaded. Nice feature and quality but theres one Caveat is that it requires a ridge line on a hammock and it is prone to spinning on the ridge line I had to make an improvised ridge line in order to test blocks the wind really good, however the vent openings are really large and let a fair amount of cold air into your hammock wish the stuff sack was a tad larger, when its cold outside it hard to get all the material back into the sewed on pouch, A big thanks for having the pouch built onto the wind sock, no more bags to loose or worry about tested today in the wind at 21* and I could feel a difference in it , combine that with an under quilt and a hex fly and you are set ... show more

  • Not Thermal But . . .
Color: Btm-od Green Size: 126" x 50"
Got this about 1 month ago. Finally got to put it to the test. Set up is intuitive and very easy. It covers my hammock and doesn't interfere with access which is also very easy. I have hammock camped in winter many times and am used to the cold, especially when waking up. But, the Windsock is something else. The temp inside while using the Windsock (according to the thermometer I used for the purpose) was about 9 degrees warmer. Doesn't sound like much but, when it's in the low 50s, that's a big difference. When it's colder, not so much. Combine this item with an underquilt and the temp difference was over 11 degrees. Outside (2d night) was 47 with inside (max difference) was 58. Nice. The only fault I can find, if it is, is that it's kind of noisy when the wind is blowing in gusts. I'll take that as the trade off for something so light and so small. OneWind did a great job on this concept and design so, if you're into winter hammock camping, this is a good idea. A really good idea. ... show more

  • Zipper windsock still comes w hole in bottom, zipper broken
Color: Zipper-od Green Size: 126" x 50"
Fabric is great. Concept is good. However a few design flaws. 1). The side zipper version still comes with a home in the bottom like the non zippered version. If you are hoping to keep skeeters out a bit difficult w hole in the bottom. 2). The Windsock does not stay upright easily. Especially in wind. I had to return the sock I received as it came w some zipper teeth deformed. ... show more

  • Good not great
Color: Zipper-od Green Size: 126" x 50"
I have used this a couple of times. I bought the zippered version thinking it would be completely enclosed when the zipper was cloesed. Nope this still has the bottom entry on it. I still like this product but could be better.

  • Great for what it is made for.
Color: Btm-od Green Size: 126" x 50"
I used this when the forecast said it was supposed to be 45 F with a puffy blanket and fly. I did not use it with the One Wind single hammock and maybe that was a mistake. My butt definitely got cold. The weather dropped to probably 36.... If you cannot close the bottom of the sock, you need to use a pad in your hammock. Now that I have the One Wind single, I am sure I will be able to cinch it down, but I lose the full wrap feeling I like with my double. Other than cold butt, I was just fine with a light puffy blanket wrapped around me insulating like a sleeping bag, so it stands to reason you can 40 F with this sock and just a sleeping bag as long as the air cannot flow up and around you to the vent. ... show more
