  • Great for the price Great for the price
1 week update, changed my rating, tldr; 10/10, excellent phone. Excellent price, excellent performance, 11/10 fingerprint reader that almost never fails to respond for my phone unlocks, work logins, banking, passwords. Camera is very responsive and app is quick to open, the shutter speed is quick and the photos are clear more of the time. The phone is powerful, it's easy to use with plenty of customizable features and compatible with my third party launcher as well. Sound quality is great, connectivity to all devices and network is great, battery life is excellent. previously: It's 2 generations newer than my previous phone, the OnePlus 6T. I had bought that in a similar fashion when it was only 2 years old, and despite this phone being 2 years newer than that one, it is currently 4 years old. Mine had only one issue, which was the USB C port and features never allowing me to connect to a PC for file transfer/photo transfer or anything, no matter how much troubleshooting was done. I had gone as far as replacing the USB ribbon beneath the battery and still unsuccessful in being able to file transfer, however, I had opted for WiFi-Direct anyway and backed up most of my videos. With this one, there are more inconvenient mishaps such as the bottom of the phone having questionable touch feedback and response, often receiving a response then refusing to cooperate when attempting to drag items from the app drawer or my launcher's dock. I've also had issues with my home launcher crashing or becoming unresponsive, however that issue has not been troubleshooted just yet. It was not difficult to set up, it was far more easy to set up than my previous phone so I am glad that there are so many options and improvements in technology, it has many improved and even new features compared to the 6T and the original OnePlus One. I love how easy the fingerprint reader is to use here, as I use it for all of my personal apps, my phone gave me some issues often. I love the customization options, although some that I had preferred and had previously are not available currently. I love the gestured navigation as I had been introduced to that with my recent tablet purchase a year ago, I wish I could choose which gestures to use for what and keep the navigation bar while also customizing their functions just like the 6T. I was not able to set up a custom live wallpaper background and lock screen as the app does not seem to be available for this device, I would use a third party app to showcase particular albums of my device and customize slide animations and swap frequency. I love that the switch remains the same-- on the side of the phone for Silent to Ring mode. The vibrations are quite strong for this model, love the 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. I had an issue with WhatsApp not finding any backups for my previous phone despite it being connected to my phone number/google and backing up every day at the same time, so perhaps that can be resolved and hopefully is not a device issue. I was not able to transfer my clock alarms and settings over, which was deeply upsetting. I very much dislike the hopelessly limited font settings for the device and how they override most of the text options through various apps. I hate that it was not simple finding icon pack settings and being able to restore my former icon pack options and selections, along with live wallpaper settings. I love the thoroughly in-depth device settings that allow me to enable and disable just about every permission and WiFi/data usage for all of my apps, hiding them to reduce app drawer clutter or locking them behind a passcode for privacy/security, however, I wish there were an over-arching option to just select which apps to prioritize/maximize security/disable rather than going through EVERY option and every app individually... I will keep notes of my experience with this phone and update this review as things change or improve. Best regards. ... show more

  • Worth It
Read The Listing People! let me make it clear now that the phone does not come with a screen protector, case, ORIGINAL charger block, or ORIGINAL charging cable. you are given whatever usb c charger they have at the time it depends on what they currently have in their inventory. I recieved the One Plus 8T 5G model KB2007 and have been given a really good experience so far. The phone is renewed so the phone will have minor scratches and dents. if you recieve a product you are not satisfied with you can always return it. the renewed product is under a 90 day warranty meaning you have all 90 days to tinker around and see if the phone is what you want. with 12gb of ram and 256gb of storage under 350 this phone is one of the best in the market. when i receieved my phone the battery was horrible i could not use it for more than 4 hours without it draining down to zero. since i recieved the tmobile variant the only carriers allowed were for tmobile and metro. i agree with others that the battery drain is bad but after about 20 days of use the phone started to fix itself and now i can use it for 8 hours. the amazon listing promises 80 percent battery capacity but not less. using accubattery i found out the phone only has 44% battery capacity! so most people think that is its capacity but it is actually not. most applications do not read the phones dual cell battery which means you are only given half that means that my phone arrived with 88% battery capacity which is what is expected as amazon promises 80% or more. the phone has a very good camera reaching up to 4k 60 frames per second with slow motion and night photography. i did not recieve anything else in the package other than the phone, a charger, sim card ejector, and the amazon renewed booklet. the phones 5g works fine and there are no other complaints. the phones processor though good does heat up a lot and gets uncomfortable to the touch in long usage i read online that the heat issue is quite normal though annoying but should not have an effect on the phone. the screen is large and beautiful with 120hz. i reccomend changing it to 60hz in the settings to further lengthen your battery life. TLDR(Too long didnt read) The phone is really good for under $350, the battery is hot to the touch and you should use it for two weeks before you decide to return it. there is no original charger and the phone model depends on what inventory the seller has. not all the phones are perfect and you are covered under amazon warranty for 90 days. ... show more

  • 2nd one of these that I have bought!
This is a great phone even years after it was released. I gave mine to my mom, and when one of her friends asked for advice on a new phone, i ordered this for them. It has plenty of power and for a measly $200 this is a great deal! This phone has the same power and storage of many of the newest phones upwards of $1000 dollars today. Why get the newest tech if your just going to lose it or its going to break in two years. Get yesteryears tech at a fraction of the cost which I guarantee is much more tech then what most people are using in their 3 year old flagships. FYI - I root and install new ROM's on phones and was able to put Android 15 on a few days after it was released. ... show more

  • Got exactly what was advertised.
Everything that was said about this product was pretty clearly stated on the store page for it. I received the exact device I expected to get, which was an aquamarine OnePlus 8T+ (the + meaning the 5G model). 5G worked out of the box as soon as I dropped in my SIM on Google Fi, and I had absolutely no issues with setup. Felt like a new phone. I've seen reviews posted recently from people who have been getting brand new phones (in original box and everything). While I did not get a brand new phone, the one I got works like new, and had very minor visual issues. The main issue with mine was that the camera bump was very grimey upon arrival, but a microfibre cloth and some rubbing alcohol cleaned it up no problem. The phone is fast, and battery life is in line with brand new devices. While it didn't come with a Warp charger, Warp chargers on Amazon are only around $25 US or so, and are very worth it. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase here. I'm coming off of a 5 year old LG V30, so the difference here is night and day. ... show more

  • 2 Years 9 Months and 1 Week
As the title states. That's how long my phone lasted before it had a random, confirmed hardware failure with the storage memory. right after my morning meeting at work last Thursday, it was sitting on my desk plugged into the charger as it usually is, and when I turned to it after a bit it was stuck on a recovery boot screen. Nothing works to try and salvage it. Fortunately the majority of the things I had saved on it are backed up to google cloud accounts, but... Still a giant pain to setup a new phone. I purchased a new "Nothing Phone 2" and have started setting it up today. My original OnePlus 6T is still going strong, just outdated (Android 11) and can't use latest mobile frequency (no 5G, only 4G LTE). I'm probably the one-off in the quality department for the line, but it's enough to sway me not to go back to Oneplus again. ... show more

  • Excellent condition
Love this phone! It's in excellent condition! I have been using only OnePlus phones for the last 10 years and I love it, much better than iphones and other brands in my opinion. Photos are nicer as well. This phone in particular seems much faster and the image quality is very nice. The only thing is that I feel that it doesn't charge as fast when I use the rapid charger as my old OnePlus, but maybe I'm just not used to it yet and just want my phone charged asap so I can use it again. Battery life is good though! ... show more

  • Great phone overall
The phone arrived well wrapped with an after-market power brick and cable. Worked perfectly and looked as good as new. 5G worked well with Tmobile (it doesn't have the bands for AT&T 5G). Unfortunately, the second sim slot was physically blocked off, not just disabled in the rom. I sent the phone back within 15 mins using the included Fedex return label and the seller issued a refund quickly. I bought the normal US version with a working second sim slot (only difference from this version as far as I can tell) from Best Buy. Phone is great and the 65W warp charging is super fast. It charges almost as fast with my other chargers so the official charger is not strictly necessary to get the advantages. Good value for the price if you don't need dual sim. ... show more
