    • OMOTON Screen Protector for iPad Pro 10.5 - high quality product & fairly easy installation

After looking over various screen protector options and reading reviews I selected the Omoton. I read all the suggestions to help with installation which, if you’ve done it before, you know is tricky. All of the cleaning and prep instructions were typical and the equipment provided for that was good quality. Placement is the difficult part. The kit uses a hinge technique and provides 3 adhesive hinges. I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and added 2 more hinges using blue painters tape. I didn’t use a steamed up bathroom just my kitchen table. To help set the hinges I placed my iPad on a clean dishcloth (not terry cloth) and then pulled the cloth toward me until the iPad edge was just beyond the edge of the table. Most of the tablet was still on the table. This way I could more easily apply the hinges and wrap them around the edge and not worry about them sticking to the cloth or the table. I positioned the protector in place per instructions. I then placed the first hinge in the mid-point of the edge and used an eyeglass cleaning cloth to press on the center of the protector against the screen so it wouldn’t move. I then placed the other 2 provided hinges and my 2 painters tape ones for a total of 5. This effectively held the protector correctly in place. I then did the screen cleaning process as instructed. I peeled back the protector adhesive cover and let it drop onto the screen. The 5 hinges held it perfectly in place and the protector adhered correctly. This was a little tedious as anything requiring careful attention, but it was reasonably easy and effective. After the adhesive process spread out there were 2 small bubbles. With a little pressure and the cleaning cloth I moved them toward the edge and they disappeared completely. The first protector I ever installed on a previous tablet used a frame method - the protector is placed in a frame and the tablet in an opposite frame. The two frames are then shut like a book. The protector is supposed to drop in place but it didn’t and I had to redo it several times resulting a couple of tiny specks under it. As a final comment, I really encourage the use of a screen protector. It does protect against scratches and possibly short drops. I experienced something more impressive in my opinion. On a recent trip my tablet fell about 6 feet off of a closet shelf landing it’s corner on a tile floor. The corner was damaged and the screen shattered. The most intense shattering was at the point of impact with thinner cracks spreading out across the screen in a fan. The screen protector held the screen glass tightly in place and I was able to use the tablet the rest of my trip. ... show more

So far so good with the screen protector. It was relatively easy to put on, but the instructions made it harder than it should have been. Other than that, the screen feels like I am writing on paper and I love it. It doesn't feel cheap or like it's going to break when I write on it.
