I used to help me layout a floor in a large room. Worked BETTER than expected. I didn't even need to turn off the lights to see the line 20+ feet away. I can't guarantee this level of durability, but I dropped it on the floor by accident, and no issues (still worked great). So, I would highly recommend it to any weekend project warrior like me.

I used the laser level when mounting sheetrock on a ceiling I was able to easily line up all of the screws. You will most likely want a tripod to easily position the laser level.

I'm just a DIYer but I value accuracy & precision. I bought this in 2020 for $129 and have been very happy with it. At the current (11-10-2022) price of $85 it seems like a great bargain (though I haven't done any research/ comparisons since my purchase. There are some poor/ mediocre aspects : --I've found that the accompanying mounting/ positioning accessories are of no use to me ; the quality/ precision really aren't there, but that doesn't surprise me at this price-point ; eliminating them and lowering the price might make sense, though ; --others have commented about the annoying surplus of beeping, but I can deal with it for my purposes (it's possible that some users don't realize that some beeping occurs when the batteries need recharging) ; but I like the idea of simply having the lines blink when it's too far off level to auto-correct ; --I saw a criticism of the proprietary battery which may be valid but I don't know how that compares to other brands/ models, either back in 2020 or now ; I can see how something more widely used/ available could be a benefit ; --though I don't use it often, the remote control for turning the laser on & off can be surprisingly helpful to avoid misaligning the laser by the pressure on the unit's buttons after having positioned the lines ; --I found that having a tripod is a necessity ; I actually purchased a used one at Goodwill for ~ $5, I think (ymmv) ; --I'm also feeling that I'd like to have protective goggles of the appropriate wavelength (520nm), but I'm going to have to contact OMMO or do some internet searching, as I didn't notice one recommended by OMMO for this laser ; I'm pretty cautious about accidentally having the laser in my eyes as I set it up or work around it (at 70 yrs old I try to take *somewhat* fewer risks!) ; --I really like the case that it came with ; I probably wouldn't have paid more to have it but I'm glad that I got it ; I tend to skimp on some things like this (or a tripod or goggles...) when it would be beneficial to have them ; I don't know if this is the unit for you, but it's worked well and been very helpful for me, so I'm very happy with it, even at the price I paid.
