  • This is a serious monitor for Twitch FPS gamers
For Twitch FPS Gamers: I bought this monitor because I wanted a "Twitch FPS" gaming-focused monitor that had a resolution above 1080p, had a super low response time, super low input lag and a refresh rate of at least 144hz. Those are very specific requirements and perhaps that puts me in somewhat niche market. For that purpose, this is a 5-star monitor. There are very few monitors out there that meet these criteria. What does that mean exactly? 1080p has been the defacto resolution for over a decade. By today's standards, it is honestly on the low side. Browsing web pages on a monitor with this resolution is fine, but not great. You really want a higher resolution that has more vertical space (1080p means there's only 1080 vertical pixels on your monitor). This allows you to see more vertical content on a webpage, more of a Word document, more rows on Excel, etc etc etc. So for me, 1440p or 4k monitors were a requirement. As of this writing, there is no 4k monitor that has all of these criteria available to the general public. I'm currently typing this on the Acer Predator XB271HK - a 4k monitor which is quite nice, but which lacks several of the requirements I described above. If you have a computer with a beefy GPU and are capable of playing at resolutions higher than 1080p with ease and play games like Unreal Tournament, Quake, Counter-Strike, or non-twitch FPS games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, Destiny, or any other games where reaction time is an important factor, this is a monitor for you. If your focus is on design, and your tools of the trade are Photoshop, or any of the Creative Cloud suite, or if the primary use of your computer is for web-based games or video/tv (Netflix or Blu-ray DVDs), this monitor will be fine, but there are other, cheaper monitors more suitable for your usage. 5 stars for fast-paced gaming 4 stars for picture quality - you should tweak your RGB to be Red: 216 Green: 234 Blue: 243, Contrast: 75 and Brightness 25 for the most accurate colors. Honestly, I put my brightness at 50 so it wasn't quite so dark. 3 stars for brightness - it's a TN monitor, so it won't be terribly bright and the contrast won't be terribly great - but it'll look decent If you have any questions, just ask. ... show more

  • Fantastic monitor
Had it for over 5+ years and only 1 dead pixel which is only visible on black screen.

  • Great Monitor. Glad I got it.
I was hesitant to buy this monitor because some of the bad reviews, but I am glad I purchased this monitor. I knew when I got it I would have to tweak the settings, but some of the other reviews talk about that, so it was easy to get through. Also people really complained about the stand being easy to move. Mine is not like that. It stays where I put it and feels very stable to me. The buttons on the back of the monitor make it a little tricky to get through the settings because you don’t always hit the right button, but not a big deal. Color is great and overall I’m happy about the picture quality. I can run high FPS In 1440 so that is what I wanted most, so I could sit here and not pick a couple things like other people but I’m not gunna waste my time because overall it’s a great monitor. I’m can run Fortnight around 160-170 FPS with everything on Epic and with V-Sync On. If I do a mix of epic and high setting and turn V-Sync off I can run it around 190-210 depending on what I select. TAUR is running around 220-240 FPS. Destiny 2 is running around 140-170 FPS with everything on highest video settings. Warhammer (2013) is running around 220-240 with everything on high. I have an Intel I-9 8core with an Asus ROG Strix 11GB Triple fan with 16GB of DDR4-4000MHz and 1 TB SSD drive. Anyways since my setup can pump out high frame rates and I wanted to get the most out of my pc, then this Monitor definitely was up for the task. Overall I’m happy! ... show more

  • Great for Competitive Gaming, but Pricey with Some Limitations
**Pros:** - **High Refresh Rate**: The 240Hz refresh rate ensures smooth and fluid gameplay, making it ideal for competitive gaming. - **Low Input Lag**: Extremely low input lag provides a responsive gaming experience. - **High Resolution**: The 1440p resolution offers sharp and detailed images, perfect for both gaming and productivity. - **Fast Response Time**: Excellent response time reduces motion blur and ghosting. - **FreeSync Support**: Compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for tear-free gaming. **Cons:** - **Poor Viewing Angles**: The TN panel has narrow viewing angles, leading to color and contrast degradation when viewed from the side. - **Limited HDR Performance**: Basic HDR support does not significantly enhance visual quality. - **Ergonomics**: Limited ergonomic adjustments with no swivel or portrait mode. - **PWM Flicker**: Uses PWM for brightness control, which might cause discomfort for sensitive users. - **High Price**: Higher cost compared to some competitors offering similar or better features with IPS or VA panels. **Bottom Line:** The HP Omen X 27 is an excellent choice for gamers seeking high refresh rates and low input lag at 1440p resolution. However, its TN panel limitations and high price might be a drawback for some users. ... show more

  • Went from an Asus PG27QR to this
I loved my PG27QR for years. It started malfunctioning a little so I decided to upgrade. I was pleasantly surprised at how much more detailed everything looked due to color ratios. Viewing angles are better. The 240Hz is deeefinitely noticeable in Rocket League from 165hz, my skill has increased by a factor of about 10% instantly from the extra frames. This monitor is a powerhouse. The design is elegant and aesthetically pleasing. I would not have a single complaint, but there is one little quirk.... The way they mounted it to the base is stupid. They use this weird metal and plastic clip that clips it into the base, and it doesnt feel super stable. If you have a wobbly desk, stay away. My desk is relatively solid but the monitor jiggles when i tap the desk with medium force. Realllly ridiculous IMO to have such a beautiful piece of technology mounted by a stupid plastic clip. Its not a game ender tho. I'm still extremely satisfied with this. 9/10. ... show more
