  • Title: Omega Potassium Alum Stick: Small But Mighty (Watch Out for Sensitive Skin!) Title: Omega Potassium Alum Stick: Small But Mighty (Watch Out for Sensitive Skin!)
So, you know how they say good things come in small packages? Well, they must have been talking about the Omega Potassium Alum Stick because let me tell you, this thing is tiny! I mean, I was expecting something the size of an underarm deodorant, but instead, I got a stick that's shorter than my pinky finger. Talk about a surprise twist! See my attached photo next to a Rockwell 6C. But don't let its pint-sized stature fool you; this little alum stick packs a punch. According to my pals (who apparently have the same tiny stick), it's a durable little guy that can last for over two years without showing much wear and tear. Plus, its compact size means it won't hog precious real estate in your dopp kit, making it the perfect travel companion for your globetrotting adventures. Now, onto the nitty-gritty: does it actually work? Well, it's an alum stick, folks. It's not exactly rocket science. Swipe it on your skin after shaving, and voila! No more razor burn or irritation. It's as simple as that. However, I must issue a word of caution: if you're like me and have skin as sensitive as a delicate flower, you might want to proceed with caution. Turns out, I may have a slight allergy to alum, as evidenced by the persistent itchy rash that plagued me after each use. But hey, that's on me, not the product. So, in conclusion, if you're blessed with skin that's tougher than a rhino's hide, then go ahead and give the Omega Potassium Alum Stick a whirl. It's small, it's mighty, and it gets the job done. Just be sure to listen to your skin, folks. It's the only one you've got. Razor in photo: Rockwell 6C Col. MULLY ... show more

  • Compact, works great.
Great product. It allows me to apply it exactly were I want to apply it. It is way more convenient that the larger alum blocks as I rarely do a full face shave.

  • Great Product!
I am a woman with PCOS and with that comes facial hair. I choose to shave that all off and I always try to stay up to date with different products and techniques to make sure I am getting the best shave possible. Well a few months ago a product like this started featuring in a lot of shaving videos and I was curious. Turns out it was every thing I have really been looking for in an after shaving product, its an astringent and an antiseptic! It will help tone down razor burn and ingrown hairs, I was SOLD! Now, that I have used it, I gotta say, it holds up. I love it. Yeah it can sting if I have nicked myself from shaving, but it is great. I am so glad I found this. ... show more

  • Very convenient
This roll on tube works for me. Prefer it over the alum blocks. Need to able reseal it after use. Smaller than I thought. Considering I think will last a while. Months probably. Goes easy and comfortable

  • Works nice kn a freshly shaved dome.
Use this every time I shave, part of the routine, Works great and good to get the feedback that lets you know if it's time to replace the blade. It stings when you do! Also, when it starts to break down (it will, but lasts a long time) sometimes they'll be a little jagged edge, smooth it off with some fine grit sandpaper. Your skin will thank you. Let it air dry for a few minutes before you screw the lid on too. ... show more

  • Good Little Alum Block
I wanted an alum block that didn't require me to directly pick up and hold the block itself each time I wanted to use it. I wanted a block that was encased with a handle of some kind. This one fit the bill perfectly for a decent price. These sticks will last forever. At least a year, maybe 2. After each shave, wet your face and apply this across your whole face and neck. It will kill any "weepers" or other problem areas by disinfecting them and stopping the bleeding. Although it's not as effective as a styptic pencil for stopping bleeding. In my experience a styptic is only needed if you are crappy at shaving and really cut yourself good. After you apply it you might feel some stinging. This stinging means you shaved too close in those areas. So these blocks are good for refining your technique or finding your "problem areas." Fun Fact: These blocks can be used as an unscented deodorant. It has the same active ingredient as deodorant (but doesn't leave any white goopy residue like a standard deodorant). ... show more

  • A fantastic deodorant!
Trying to get away from all of the chemicals in regular deodorant/antiperspirants, I decided to give potassium alum a try. Originally, I purchased an Osma Extra Large 230g hand-formed alum stone (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N8XEOY1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). While it worked great and did exactly what I wanted it to do, the size did, at times, make it difficult to manage: it's quite slick when wet and, considering the size, difficult to grip at times. It served me well for 2 years, until it inevitably slipped, hit the wash basin just right, and cracked into several pieces. Sold on the concept but looking for a better form, I tried this product. Not only does it work just as well (Omega makes good stuff), but, with the protective covering, the milled edge on the base, and the overall form of the alum, it's much easier to hold and use without the risk of slipping and breaking. Also, this product lasts for a good while- it's only starting to show any wear after 3 months of daily use. ... show more

  • Too bad production has moved form Italy to China at the same price
Well friends, I'm sorry to say that this formerly very useful product has declined from its original version which I have bought several times. My most recent purchase came out of the box with an undisclosed product change. Earlier examples were made in Italy. The new one is marked "Made in China." Not a welcome change, and the price is the same as the Italian-made examples. I doubt I'll order another. Too bad, as it really is a good idea. ... show more
