Otto Johannes Müller founds the business having returned from the war. He makes the first shaving brushes and designs the MÜHLE signet. Hans-Jürgen Müller takes over the company, which has grown to 40 employees. MÜHLE is exporting its products to 36 countries. Under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, Hans-Jürgen Müller sells the company and MÜHLE becomes a state-owned enterprise. Now rebranded, the business manufactures brushes only for the state. Hans-Jürgen Müller becomes a self-employed brush maker. A new Europe evolves, Hans-Jürgen Müller regains the family business and trades as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, the MÜHLE signet remains. MÜHLE struggles to survive after reunification. However, little by little, the company wins new customers and rehires former employees. Dawn of a new Millenia. The offering is expanded to a full range of wet shaving goods.
