There are a gazillion fish oil options available, yet I picked this. Why? Because it has more than a thousand miligrams of combined EPA+DHA per serving (1,130mg to be exact). While more research is needed to establish the ideal dose for different populations, most studies have used about 1,000 mg per day, so that is where I lean to as well. It isn't too low nor too high. How so? The FDA has advised that adults can safely consume up to a total of 3,000 mg per day of combined DHA and EPA, with no more than 2,000 mg from dietary supplements. Thus, 1,130 mg is about half of the FDA maximum per day. Why not less? Well, there is a thing called the "omega-ratio" where you want your omega-3 to be no less than half of your omega-6 intake. Since we take so much omega-6, we need enough omega-3 to balance things out, without exceeding the maximum daily amount from supplements. Thus, I think somewhere in the 1,000mg range is a good balance between possibly too little and possibly too much (this aligns with the dosage decision made in many omega-3/fish oil studies). And then separate from the total EPA+DHA amount, is the ratio between them. I wanted there to be slightly more EPA versus DHA, but closer to a ratio of 1, not close to a ratio of 2:1 (which would be too little DHA) — for overall health benefits (instead of targeting a specific health benefit). That it has vitamin D makes it even better, I was able to discontinue my vitamin d supplement. I like that the fish sources are fish I actually eat (anchovies, sardines, and mackerel). It is a big pill, but being 'soft-gel' makes it a little easier to swallow. I like that it is distributed by a US-headquartered firm. I'm disappointed the bottle does not contain any claims about certification or 3rd-party testing, though the Amazon sales page does have those claims. I have not detected any fishy burps. This is my current go-to omega-3 supplement.

Mis niveles de colesterol y trigliserios habian subido mucho el ultimo mes, llegue a casa y me puse a buscar que podria tomar para ayudarme a reducirlos me recomendaron omega 3 desde que las estoy bebiendo he sentido mucha mejoria los mareos y nauseas despues de comer se han ido y he sentido mas energia y un gran cambio en mi dia a dia , no sientes para nada el sabor de pescado .Se las recomiendo mucho, son capsulas un poco grandes pero facil de dijerir,te aseguro que te mwjoraras como yo.

These pills are a smooth flexible material that makes them easier to go down with a drink. They are large enough that I don’t recommend dry swallowing them. I tried that with one pill, and it got stuck in my throat until I did drink some water; then it went down easily. I find it curious that there are only 45 pills per bottle when the serving size is 2. So this bottle only contains 22.5 days worth of pills…not even enough for an entire month. Personally, I prefer to buy a larger quantity to get me through a minimum of a month. Other than the strange amount in the bottle, these pills seem to work fine. They left no aftertaste.
