When I am working in the garden in the red river valley soil (black dirt and clay underneath). I need garden tools that can hold up to the task and not bend or break when they get pride on moving dirt. It is not always feasible to use a fork or shovel you need a good strong hand tool and these and Ames products have been the best I have ever purchased. Delivery was faster than expected. Definitely suitable as a gift! Boxed and presentable when opened! They were put to use the day they were delivered. Comfortable to hold and use. The quality seems really good on these tools, and I'm so excited to use them. However, there were a couple scratches on the shovel, which is disappointing, but it still looks nice. The handles are very sturdy but very comfortable, and you can tell the tools are made to last. The tines of the rake were not aligned completely evenly, but I could sort of bend them a bit back into place. The products arrived quite dusty, which I found strange and unappealing, but obviously dust is a very minor issue and I can just wash it off. Other than a couple things, the tools look great and I'm very excited, I just wish that the scratches on the shovel weren't there considering the price of the product. ... show more

Olmstead Forge makes solid garden tools and my wife loves them as she gardens. Nice selection of useful tools which are easy to hold without slippage. I wish they'd include a garden belt to hold the tools

I always bought garden tools that are just ok. My old ones did the job but were cheap quality. I bought these because I wanted quality tools. These are amazing. They are such high quality. The hand held rake is so handy. I am so happy with these.
