The quality was outstanding. Everything fitted perfectly and all the parts were complete. It went together very easy but did take longer than I had planned. I avoided gluing any of the dowels as I was concerned that if I made a mistake I wouldn’t be able to backtrack which actually did happen at one point. I don’t think any sacrifice in stability was a result as it seems very sturdy and is totally stable. I couldn’t be more pleased with it. I would add that the hutch arrived several days after the desk and I had no way to track the hutch to see if it was really coming which was somewhat concerning for a few days. There was a notice in the desk that the hutch might arrive later which I still wasn’t comfortable would really happen until it actually arrived. Would have been better if it had showed as a back order on the invoice but all is good. ... show more

This is a nice sturdy wood desk. It is very attractive and looks nice in my office. It took me about 7 hours alone to put it together. It was fairly easy, with exception of joining the two desks together. The unit would not sit flush. I have to use a few clamps and it finally held when fastened. The instructions can be tricky. The quality for the price is far more than what I expected. We got the desk with the hitch so it can in 3 heavy boxes. They were banged up a bit and I was concerned about the two glass panels. Once opened it was obvious they they spent much time engineering the packing because every piece was pristine. Instructions (pictures only) were well done and easy to follow. With all the assembly steps, there were only two simple issues that were simply rectified- highly, highly recommend this company and this product ... show more

I got this corner desk and the cabinet of the set to go in my coastal themed loft office. It’s beautiful furniture that you have to assemble yourself. You will need 2 people ideally. Time it takes to assemble is strictly subjective to individual time availability and schedules. This came in two large and heavy boxes. It took both my spouse and me a couple hours, over three nights after work to open, inventory parts, and carry them upstairs. It took one of the nights just to inventory the parts over a couple hours. Then we both took a weekend to start assembling it over the 2 days working about 3-4 hours each night, at an easy pace, not rushed. We had to finish the next weekend over just one day 4-5 hours. It’s awkward and unwieldy to do the final assembly steps to make the “L” shape, and you WILL need 2 people to assemble this desk. The graphically conveyed instructions (not written step by step but pictorial instructions) to this desk were not on the scale the cabinet’s were. There was confusion and lack of clarity throughout, and we had to kinda figure out what they meant at many places and try it, then hope it was right. They give you a bag of “spare parts” which includes a duplicate of every part needed to assemble, and this was a super professional thing to do that one doesn’t see done much, if at all, anymore. Even though we didn’t need to use any, it was a much appreciated consideration, because if they didn’t include them, we’d probably have needed every one. The furniture is laminate over compressed heavy particle board - it’s tough, heavy and very durable. It’s what I would call well done and functionally beautiful furniture. Now for the reasons I give a 3 star review instead of a 5. 1. Instructions. Bad. 2. Impossible to install cab lock due to a permanent attached wood piece blocking access for tool to lock it. (That piece of wood should have been REMOVABLE).You find this out ONLY during final assembly, you have to put a bolt in an area to join the pieces, only to find out there’s a permanently attached wood piece directly in front of it so you can’t fit a screwdriver of any size in to fit it. So we had to get creative and devised a makeshift tool that would get the bolt secured. It was the most amazingly poor design and thoughtless final review of anything I’ve ever seen. Very bad. We wondered what other people did that didn’t have access to the tools we did. See pictures. 3. The knob on the top drawers (of all this set of furniture, my cabinet is same way) will pinch your finger when trying to open it so bad it REALLY hurts. It is SUPER BAD design. I understand why they did it aesthetically, but the knob should really be in middle of drawers. See pictures. 4. The laminate was pealing off the top piece at one area, but it was in a place not visible so we kept going, but that should not have been there on a $400+ desk. See pictures. 5. The hanging file frameworks are all plastic, which mine were all deformed as well. This was a huge negative on this design as it was a bad choice as one can't use them for intended purpose in the real world due to the fact they are PLASTIC and not metal. So, I have to buy a separate metal frameworks from the office supply to use drawer for intended purpose: Hanging files. We were pretty put off by this actually as it really was a cheap move unnecessarily. Made no sense. I've never gotten a filing furniture piece that didn't include a METAL frameworks. Pretty bad. The glass tops are mine. I had them custom cut and forgot to take pictures without them on. ... show more

I cannot say enough how much I love this desk! I updated my office with this l-shaped desk and was surprised at the quality. Very sturdy and looks great and very functional. I love this piece! Made of solid wood and you will need help getting it inside. I put it above a dresser made by the same company. Put it together myself so it was easy if you can read directions. The only thing I wish it had was legs or a kit to make it fit directly on the dresser. It was 4 inches too wide so I added wood to make it fit to sit on top. ... show more
