  • Must have
Color: Black Style: Brooklyn Purse
It's a great casual bag. It holds a lot more than I expected. Love the tablet section and it's well protected.

  • My go to purse!!
Color: Black Style: Brooklyn Purse
I have purchased 2 of these in the past 5 years. I’m not a purse snob and this purse is perfect for me. Goes with everything and is durable

  • This is a very handsome bag.
Color: Black Style: Brooklyn Purse
The strap is NOT very long - I wish it were adjustable! And it is not shaped to sit on your opposite shoulder, but rather pulls on your neck. However, if you use it as a shoulder bag as opposed to a cross-body, then it's fine. It may slip, depending on your physique and what you are wearing, so it would be SO GREAT if they included a silicone or textured shoulder strap. You can buy one separately on Amazon, so that's what I'm planning on doing. Others have commented that you need to waterproof it, so I may do that as well, but the chemicals used in those sprays are probably going to off gas/rub off on me. Yikes! Well, maybe I'll just spray the bottom of it (why don't they make bags with rubber or silicone bottoms? We end up putting these bags on the floor/dirty counters/tables all the time!) OK, rant over. The bag is roomy. And while I suspect the lining (bright white with happy multi-colored small polka dots) will get dingy, it really helps to find things inside (my other bag was dark inside and drove me nuts!) The buttons on the front are a pain to open, but if you put something valuable in the outside zippered pocket and then close up the buttons, it will be VERY hard to pickpocket, so that's a plus). I usually just leave the buttons undone so I can pick up the flap, unzip and grab my keys or cellphone, whichever I put in there. I keep about a handful of keys and my cell dimensions are 4.57 x 2.35 x 0.57 inches (116 x 59.6 x 14.5 mm). The pocket could definitely hold a larger cell, though, and more keys. The zipper on the top closes completely, so no worries about an opening for stuff to fall out - a pet peeve of mine. Inside, there is a padded middle pocket for tablets/devices, etc. I may use this for that, but it's still a great feature to keep delicate stuff, like glasses or breakable toiletries). There are two other sections (three total). One has the pen/pencil holders - actually quite handy - and two small open pouches. The one major critique is that the back/body side doesn't have a large zippered outside pocket, which is usually a great place to put your notepads/docs, etc. Oh well, paperless society and all, here we come. I think it's a sturdily, well-built bag. It is a good size, bigger than a purse, but far smaller than a laptop bag or briefcase or mail/biker bag. It does have a big OGIO metal tag on the front that isn't showing up in this picture. I am going to try to remove it, but may need to slice into the lining on the inside to do so (it feels like it's screwed together). The reason I would want to remove it is because it is unpleasantly thick and it feels as though it may eventually wear the material underneath down. The material of this bag - the grey/black one - feels like the sort you'd find on a high-end outdoor gear all-weather coat. It has visible texture, but is at once stiff enough and flexible enough to work well for a bag like this. So far, pretty happy with it. ... show more

  • Long for a thin person
Color: Black Style: Brooklyn Purse
I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying the purse hangs too short, so I want to share this. I’m 5’7” and thin-ish. I find the purse longer than I wanted. It hangs next to my hip, or on my behind if I swing it to the back. So I will send it back. The material is like a softer backpack material and kind of noisy. You can hear that in some video reviews. The bag holds a lot, and can puff out to fit things because of soft sides. ... show more

Parents require both hands at all times as much as possible hence sidesaddle bags are stylish and purposeful. Just because the bag as a lot of space doesn't mean we should use it. The bag looks extremely stylish with minimal items in it. There are two zipper pockets and one of them can hold a laptop. It is amazing what can be put in the bag. There is even an unexpected hidden pocket under the flap. Pin holders and unzipped pockets. This is hands down an amazing bag and I highly recommend it in Black. I love that it's gender neutral- it will look amazing on men aka the messenger bag. The only other purse I would recommend is Target's Made by Design versatile fanny pack which is also a cross shoulder bag with latches to secure all the zippers- it's excellent for theme parks but wouldn't wear it for coasters unless as fanny pack. No one wants to leave all their precious items on the side for anyone to pick up. ... show more

  • Wish I’d discovered this bag sooner
Color: Black Style: Brooklyn Purse
I am so pleased with this bag. I was looking for something that was itself lightweight and washable that could hold my wallet, glasses case, phone, some meds, .5L water, maybe a notebook in, with a design that makes sense. This is it. Due to chronic illness I don’t get out much, so my needs are unique, and different than they used to be. However, given how I’ve chosen and used bags in the past, I think I would’ve found this one useful, even in the Before time. I can think of an international trip in which if I hadn’t packed my Canon FTb, film, etc I could’ve used this as my “personal item”/daily bag. I keep my inhaler in the zipper pocket under the buttons. It’s out of the way but still accessible if I need it in a hurry. The inside has adequate pen loops and smaller elastic pockets that can accommodate a phone, etc. I use the tablet pocket for emergency eye drops & other stuff that can pack pretty flat. The two compartments are just right for the stuff I wanted to carry around, and I don’t find them too welcoming of clutter. The strap lays flat and is long enough for my 5’8” 36GG UK bust (measured/fitted properly) frame to sit right at my hip, which is where I want it to be. I’ve also had less of an issue with the crossbody strap unbuttoning my shirt than with other crossbody bags, perhaps because the strap is quite wide as well as lightweight. YMMV with how much is carried in the bag, but I’ve had no problem carrying crossbody on a previously-injured/nerve-damaged shoulder (because I forget until it lets me know I’ve done something stupid). Also works well over the shoulder. The black fabric has some sheen to it—I’d almost call it dark graphite, but it’s also not gray. It suits me fine. ... show more

  • I love this purse!
Color: Black Style: Brooklyn Purse
I had no idea how much I would love this purse! At first I just thought it looked cute, but when it arrived it was so much more! The strap is nice and wide and the purse is light as a feather, so I barely feel it on my shoulder at all! Even with my things in it, it is still so light! I am 5'4" with a short torso, and it sits at the perfect length on my side! It has a nice silky inner lining, with 3 different sections to put your things! The middle section is nice and padded for my phone and glasses too :) It is spacious enough for any extras you may have at the last minute too :) I show this purse off to everyone, and get lots of compliments on it too :) I would recommend this purse to anyone! ... show more
