My better half is a mechanic on the side but used to work in a big shop. He was hoping for something similar to what they used to have. In a pinch this will do, he had better luck using it for transmission fluid.... As far as the oil goes, this one has a weird texture to it, so everything still splatters like it would if he wasn't using it. Like I said, it worked out okay for something not as thick as oil but in that aspect. Keep shopping. Size wise? It fit the standard rolling oil drain pan as expected. The design is basic. These splash pads are excellent for keeping oil changes tidy. They fit well in my drain pan and effectively prevent oil from splashing everywhere. I liked that they can be trimmed to fit different sizes but the material doesn't feel premium and doesn't feel it can last longer.     • Great for Mess-Free Oil Changes
After cutting one of these to size for our drain pan, this splash guard has become a fantastic asset in our garage, completely eliminating both splash and spills (functionality). The build quality is very nice and thick, and the 1/2" thickness allows it to sit nicely within the drain pan's bowl, staying put against the sides and allowing us to focus on the drain plug and pan positioning (ease of removal was also good). The fact that this package includes two large 15-inch splash pads means they offer great versatility to fit a wide range of oil catch pans. They effectively absorbed the oil, minimizing splashes, and we were able to wash, dry, and reuse them on another vehicle the following weekend. We've only used them for engine oil so far, but I anticipate they would work just as well for other liquids. Considering they are reusable and you receive two, I believe they are well worth the price to avoid the hassle of cleaning up spills! ... show more

Very thin and dont flow well. Spend the extra money and buy the Lisle ones that will last years, I'll be lucky if these last a month or two.

    • Works as intended for what it's designed to do
Not much can be said as these are a very simple product. They work well as intended to prevent splashes of oil and fluids in drain containers. Size is great for most standard drain pains and can be cut to fit. They seem to be of good quality and should last under moderate use.
