I have always liked the RDS brand. However, the reviews were mixed on this RDS, and I almost didn't order this item. Several reviews said the item was damaged upon arrival. If you are questioning ordering this because of the reviews, I think you will be happy with the product. I wouldn't hesitate to order. It was easy to assemble, and it is sturdy...excellent quality. Love the fuel tank/ tool chest, and it fits perfectly in the back of my truck. It does exactly what it says it will do. I was very happy with this purchase!

Works well and looks great.. Only complaint is the latches are kinda cheap. Had to do some bending and slamming to get the lid to somewhat close . Still not right. Have to slam the lid pretty good to close. Had to add a fuel hose about a foot long to the vent fitting to keep fuel from burping out.. Other than that it's good.

There is literally a single layer of cardboard between this and the outside. UPS and Fedex guys can destroy this pretty quickly. Ordered one -- it was so banged up I was worried about the integrity of the fuel storage area. The welds looked damaged. Returned it and ordered another one. The new one came a little banged up but serviceable. Works well! Relatively easy to install. I wired it into a 7-pin trailer connector for power to the fuel pump and it works every bit as good as a normal gas pump. Not a bang on Amazon, but RDS should REALLY package these better for shipment. I don't mind a few cosmetic dings but I think many would prefer an unblemished unit.

I bought this to use on my equipment trailer. I’m using it to fuel up my John Deere Tractor when I’m out clearing property or doing work for a customer. I like the storage compartment. I’m using it to store all my webbing/ chains etc. So onto my review I had read a bunch of reviews before buying this transfer tank. All reviews were constant with one another in regards to shipping and condition upon arrival. Mine were no different. I had to order two! 1st one was smashed up and bent. One thing in all reviews that has not been mentioned is that the reason this transfer tank arrives damaged is because the packaging of course but mostly because the materials used are sub par and thin! Very thin gauged. I could bend or flex the diamond plate easily by hand. It is such poor quality that I don’t see how anyone could justify charging $1300 to near $1500 for any of this company’s tanks. I bought a BETTER BUILT transfer tank/ tool box and it was serious quality. Built tough heavy gauged metals and soft closed latches and handles. Stupidly I sold it to buy this. So. Staying on point.. This transfer tank is the right size. Offers the right size compartment for storage of webbing. The hose and fuel handle is pretty much junk. The compartment that holds the fuel pump, hose, pump handle and filling is TINY, too small to hold the hose and no way to add a fuel filter, which every transfer tank NEEDS. For the money? You should get much better quality gauged diamond plate. You should get a better pump handle with a swivel connection. You should receive better packaging. You should receive a fuel filter set up. The fuel compartment should be large enough to allow comfortable storage for the pump hose and installation of a fuel filter. I bought a new pump handle, swivel connector for the fuel hose, a fuel filter and fitting to install it, a fuel pump gauge ( inline) and a new fuel hose. I paid $1400+ for JUNK! That I had to modify to work correctly. See picture 2 I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a better quality tank. It’s cheaply made, cheap quality gauged diamond plate, poor quality design.

The tank I received was incorrectly assembled. The fuel pickup tube on the pump was too long which resulted in it pumping less than a gallon a minute. After disassembling the pump and cutting the pick up tube to the correct length it worked great. The whole process of finding the correct tools to disassemble the tank was very frustrating. There is very little room in the pump compartment. After using a 12: chain wrench and busting a couple knuckles I was able to remove the pump. I want to give them 2 stars since this is manufactured in the USA. I expect these types of issues with cheap imported products. This was not cheap and did not meet my expectations.
