OUO is clear curing and non yellowing while containing natural UV inhibitors, helping to protect from the sun's harmful radiation. OUO penetrates, cross links and bonds molecularly, becoming one with any surface its applied to and does not sit on top as a shell or film like many conventional finishes. It cures fast and hard while also remaining flexible. This means it will never peel, flake, chip, delaminate, wrinkle or leave unsightly white scratch marks or cracks!
  • WHAT YOU CAN USE IT ON- Odies Universal Oil can be applied to everything from wood, metal, leather, rubber and concrete to plastic, vinyl, stone and more! Works for interior and exterior applications. Great for all species of wood, exotic and domestic, solid or veneer. Formulated to work on even the oiliest of woods. • WHY YOU NEED IT Odies Oil is the most versatile finish on the market! Its a modified & enhanced Tung Oil based finish. Our Tung Oil has been put through proprietary processes which has then been mixed in a special blend of the finest essential oils & waxes. Born out of inspiration & driving need to solve problems with the culmination of 40+ years of R&D and field testing performed in the most extreme environments produced a revolutionary product line that out performs & out covers the competition with unparalleled protection, versatility, beauty, durability & value, all without the use of ANY toxic chemicals, petroleum derived solvents, isocyanate hardeners, heavy metals or added driers.
  • Odysseus Cornwalls finishes are safe for everybody: families, kids, and pets! Odysseus Cornwalls finishes are easy to use! No sanding or stripping in between coats or for retouching! Wipe on, Wait a while, Buff off. Easy! A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! USE SPARINGLY. "No solvents" means there is almost nothing to evaporate, so what you put on the wood, stays in the wood. Odysseus Cornwalls finishes cover many, many times the area of other wood finishes. Up to 20 times the coverage as conventional finishes.
  • All Odies finishes each have a unique, pleasant earthy, floral scent that do not have or leave a strong odor behind. They smell like a day at the spa and the smell quickly dissipates as it cures. Odies finishes are completely food safe, non toxic & and safe for everyone to use & live with, including the children and pets! Odies finishes are easy to apply using basic tools such as a non woven pad for application and a terry cotton towel for removing & buffing off the excess. Odies finishes dry fast and can be handled almost immediately, we recommend 3-5 days cure time before being subjected to standing liquids.
  • Odies Universal Oil does not require any special maintenance & finished surfaces are easy to clean using 10 parts vinegar to 1 part water, soap & water or by using Odies Cleaning Concentrate. A 1-2% concentration of Odies Cleaner in water is typically all that is needed. Odies Universal Oil produces a beautiful, protective & very durable finish that is resistant to water, liquids & stains. It provides excellent resistance to heat and scratches & has natural UV inhibitors.
  • The sheen & gloss of the finish is primarily dictated by the surface preparation. The higher you sand the higher the initial dictation of sheen. There are no sanding restrictions with Odies finishes! You can also build upon the sheen, depth & lustre with additional applications & by using the various finishes in conjunction to suit your desired effects.

  • Odies Oil WORKS on ButcherBlock!!!
FINALLY!! After using several different products on my butcher block countertop, Odies is the only one that actually finished it!! I tried mineral oil, that was a mess and didn't last a month, I tried a few popular oil/beeswax blends, that didn't last more than a couple weeks either, and it did allow mold to grow under it. It took me quite a long time to sand that down enough to bleach out the mold/mildew stains. At that point I was just completely disappointed and felt I had made a mistake getting butcher block. I really didn't want to use one of those varnish type finishes due to my heating vent being directly over the counter, and having a dog. I didn't want a countertop with dog hair stuck in the finish. My last ditch effort after completely sanding down the countertop was to use Odies Oil. I personally don't care for the smell, but it dissipated in about 2 hours. It's easy to use, but you do need to put some elbow grease into it. Worth the effort! I followed the directions carefully and was rewarded with a beautiful finish that still looks today, just like it was the day I applied it about 6 weeks ago. Pic 1 was the night I finished applying Odies. Pic 2 and Pic 3 are today, Water still beads up! It really does harden up with time. It leaves a nice sheen and let's the beauty of the wood shine thru. It doesn't change the color much either. I hope it darkens with time to match my cabinets better. I figure with continued use of my countertop, I may have to re-apply a coat of Odies, but I'm fine with that. There was plenty left over after 2 coats. I used less than 1/4 of the jar. Great product! ... show more

  • Worked great to restore my cabinet doors!
I bought this years ago to finish a project in natural shine. The wood didn't look good with it so it has been sitting. Yesterday, I was getting ready to use it on a cutting board because it says it's food safe and noticed it says restores finishes. I had just been looking at finish restorers for my cabinets which looked terrible. So, what the heck. Why not rub on some of this and see? WOW. Look at the before and after photos! It may not be as striking in the photos as it is in real life but it is so much better! The cabinets are even color, shine beautifully and we're finished in no time. I just wiped it on and wiped it off. It was a thick application because they were bad so I had to wipe extra off but it was easy . They are a little tacky 24 hours later but I attribute that to a heavy use. I am doing all the cabinets just for preventive maintenance. It may seem like an expensive fix but it is way cheaper than replacing or sanding and refinishing. And this stuff goes a long way. I still have 2/3 of a jar. I will have to wait and see how long it lasts. I am so pleased with how much better they look. ... show more

  • Give this a try!!!
I made wooden countertops out of pine and maple. I work a lot with wood and different sealants/ lacquers/ waxes. This product is amazing!! I stained the wood with an oil based sealer. Went back and forth with what finish I wanted. I’ve read numerous posts on Reddit on how great this product is so I decided to give it a try! It’s been a year since I’ve applied it and I do not have any wear spots! It still has a shine to it, water repels from it and does not damage the wood. This is the best product I have used on wood!!! ... show more

  • It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it
I’ve tried other hard wax oils (like Rubio and Natura) but I’ve been Odie’s curious for a while so I gave it a shot. I’ve used it in a few projects and the results have been great. I really like that there is no 2-part mixing and that it’s safe to get on your hands. (Though I can tell you that it dries pretty sticky on your skin so I do wear gloves) Application is a breeze with a white scuff pad, then leave it for 30 minutes and wipe off any excess. In my experience, it’s been safe to handle the next morning. It says to give it a few weeks to fully cure before exposing to moisture but my projects don’t really get wet so I don’t have experience there. Two usage notes: the product doesn’t have much of a sheen, it’s similar to using a satin poly or lacquer. I’ll probably try some Odie’s wax in the future to give it more luster. Pictured is the result of using this on hard maple, like most products it gives the wood a slight amber tint. Overall, I’m really happy with the product and plan to continue using it. It’s not cheap but it looks like a $55 jar could last me a year or more. ... show more

  • Easy to use and smells nice but not much sheen.
easy to use! I put two coats of Odies oil on a river table. It was easy to apply. I followed the directions pretty carefully and buffed my heart out. The outcome was ok but not what I hoped for. The wood was walnut and while Odies highlighted the grain it did not have the depth I've achieved with Osmo and with General Finishes hard wax oil. After 24 hours I applied a coat of paste wax to give the project a little shine but it did not help. The product is good but I was hoping for more. ... show more

  • Quality stuff. Doesn't take much
Good quality oil. Used it for some teak side tables I installed on a grill. Gave it a nice deep and rich look. It doesn't take much of this stuff, so if it seems expensive, it does go a long way.

  • Use sparingly. I used scotch pads on my orbital sander instead of rubbing it on by hand.
I have always used mineral oil on my serving boards. I wanted to try something different. I read some of the reviews for odies oil and decided to try it. It works great, easy to use. A little pricy. Boards are silky smooth. If you buff them just a little the next day they are even smoother to the touch. ... show more
