I'm a big guy with big lungs and this snorkel provides excellent air volume to let me breathe and fill my lungs sufficiently for a dive. The dry valve was shockingly effective in keeping water out of the snorkel even though the tradeoff is a bit of bouyancy with the trapped air. I HATE getting a snorkel full of water that I have to blow out after a dive - disclaimer - Im not a pro or even close, just a casual vacation swimmer like most people. The purge valve leaked from the first time I put it in the water. I had to keep stopping and pouring the water out, not only did valve leak, but then it wouldn't purge the leaked water. I returned it.
