After you let go, the valve spring should not automatically spring up. 1. Always-Closed → Always-Open Keep the valve spring higher than the valve, which is at the always-closed position. Press the spring down and twist a little degree, till the spring will not spring up automatically, then you’ll get the always-open position. *This position helps you deflate the kayak easier. 2. Always-Closed → Temporarily-Open / Air Inflation Keep the valve spring higher than the valve, which is at the always-closed position, and press the tube of pump into the valve, twist a little degree to lock the tube, not the spring, so that you’ll come to the position for air inflation. The valve spring inside is at the same level with the valve, and cause you didn’t twist it to the always-open position, after you pull out the tube, it should spring up and return to always-closed position. And you finish inflating with the valve closed automatically. *At this position, you have finished inflating, and no air will leak. 3. Always-Open → Always-Closed When the valve spring and valve at the same level, and will not spring up, so you could twist it till the it spring up and cannot be turned anymore. This is the position at always-closed. *We suggest you switch the valve spring to this position after your deflation, which will be convenient for your next air inflation.

  • Great Kayak and great customer support !
Style: Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
Really impressed with this kayak. I looked at most every inflatable kayak on the market and decided on this one based on construction and value for the price. It seems to have the same qualities as some costing twice as much. I like the drop stitch floor and stiff sides as well as the tough material used in construction. It inflates and deflates quickly even just using the included hand pump. I purchased an electric pump, but actually the hand pump is faster. The color and graphics are also attractive. It looks like a professional kayak and not some toy. The customer support at Oceanbroad is outstanding. These days, you pretty much expect very little when you contact customer service, but Oceanbroad is the exception. We had a concern about the kayak and contacted support. Sue at Oceanbroad responded quickly and completely took care of us. Our emails were answered quickly and she really seemed to care about resolving our problem. Very impressed. Overall, I would definitely buy from them again and look forward to many years with my kayak. Additional to my review. We went on a trip this week to a local lake. First time out on my new kayak. It handled great, the seat was comfortable and had good back support. It tracked really well. When you stop paddling, the kayak goes straight unlike some that will wallow off course. There is plenty of room for gear behind the seat and under the areas at bow and stern. It's light enough to carry over your shoulder. I have other kayaks, rigid sit in, rigid sit on top, but this may be my favorite one now. Overall very pleased. ... show more

  • Excellent product; great value for the price.
Style: Sky Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
Good things: Good quality material for the price. Material is high quality and very durable. It handled calm water and a few moderate river rapids excellently. It is very stable and safe enough for my 4yo to sit in the front without any problems. I have not yet had a chance to test the draining valves when the boat gets flooded. The manual inflation pump included was also good quality. It took about 20 minutes to inflate with the manual pump, but I would recommend buying a cheap battery-powered compressor instead. With our powered pump, it only took about 5 minutes to inflate the whole thing. The craft is light enough for an average teenager to carry on their back over 100 yards, no problem. With one rider, there was still plenty of room for a small ice chest and a small live well. The boat held up well in both fresh water and salt water. When it was time to pack up, the entire craft took about 20 minutes to drain, deflate and fold back into the bag for transport. The carrying bag easily fits the boat, the paddle, the seat parts, and two lifejackets, no problem. It's an excellent "swim boat" for ponds, lakes, and moderate rivers. We had lots of fun "surfing" waves at the beach. It was perfect for light tackle bass fishing. Minor issues: It has decent speed in flat, calm water with the keel fin installed; but tracking is generally poor. Amateurs won't care, but it will frustrate more experienced rowers on open water. Without the fin, speed and tracking are greatly reduced. Performance is very poor when sustained winds are over 10 mph. Even with the fin, the average rower will struggle against light breezes on the open water. We tried open water in a stiff breeze around 18 mph and it was almost impossible without maximum sustained effort. Also, the material is good quality, but my experience tells me it might wear out very quickly against rough/jagged rocks in wilderness whitewater conditions. It's not for "sport." Built more for comfort, ease of transport, and medium/low skill rowers. ... show more

  • THIS THING ROCKS!
Style: Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
I have a real nice hard shelled Old Towne 10ft kayak and it has become very hard to transport when I camp unless someone has a pickup to haul it. I missed out on too many kayak opportunities and have been contemplating getting an inflatable for 2 years. Spent hours researching and kept coming back to this model. Major selling point… THE DROP STITCH FLOOR, which is more prevalent in higher end inflatable and I feel was a must for me. Really made it feel bottom sturdy. Decided to take the plunge and get this one. My inaugural launch was this past weekend and it was so easy to inflate after buying a portable pump which took less than 10 minutes for all 3 chambers. And the valve worked perfectly with the pump nozzle attachment and no air leak as it was disconnected. I was skeptical about the paddle being a bit smaller in the head from my hard shelled kayak paddle, but surprisingly it worked fine. Even has grommets to catch water drips and then comes in 4 pieces for easy storage and is click fit. Might put some hand grips on it in the center where I hold it, as I always get blisters. For my first try, I put this kayak through its paces. While I wanted to attach the skeg fin for supposedly better tracking, I forgot. After figuring out how to adjust the seat, and also putting a life saver cushion on top of the seat, as I always do even in my hard shelled kayak to raise me a bit and cushion my booty, I settled in to a good paddle stroke and learned how not to make the kayak sway left to right with a stroke. I learned not to take as hard of a paddle stroke and then stayed on a pretty straight path even without the skeg. So tracking isn’t that bad despite it being inflatable. Boy, the wind… While it says it isn’t the best in higher winds, I encountered close to small white tip wind waves on my way back from the other end of the lake. Surprisingly, I was able to handle the waves, even hitting them head on. I didn’t struggle getting back and never felt the kayak would tip. I did have to put more effort into it, but would have done the same in my Old Towne Kayak. I figured out that the little white plastic piece was to be installed in the front flaps and was kind of like a front “windshield”. Impressed by that, but it was a bit hard to take out for storage. Now the seat… UGH…didn’t work for me at all. THE ZIPPER needs an overhaul, as the back rest DOES NOT stay zippered and then you literally have no backrest. Cushioning wasn’t bad, but I also added the life saver seat cushion. After this first trip, I sadly had to spend another $50 ish on a better seat. This seat might work if the zippers stayed zipped. BAD DESIGN! The big downside to an otherwise good product. Disappointed that the company hasn’t figured this out as you shouldn’t have to spend more money for a new seat! Are you listening OceanBroad? Price is fair for a drop stitch floor model, but I also noticed a two seater kayak was about the same price in other models. I needed a 1 seater. Color was cool looking and easily visible on water, including the white paddle ends. The bag…yes, it is a bit big and bulky, but you can never get anything inflatable back to its original deflated shipping size, so the bag is big to allow for that. It does fit all the paddle, seat, kayak etc and probably would fit my pump. It was nice to get two small pvc patches, but they skimped on no glue, so I have to buy some glue. The soft foam footrest didn’t really work for me, was hard to adjust where it needed it, and actually at times I sat “Indian style” with crossed legs or stretched my legs out fully. While some mentioned rubbing their knees against the seat clips, that wasn’t an issue for me since the seat back wouldn’t stay up. Plenty of interior room to stretch my legs. Which also to note, the extra room could allow for a small cooler or other items to bring, such as my pump. Don’t think I would want to bring a dog, despite the floor being pretty solid. Just couldn’t trust the extra shuffling of a dog or the claws…yikes. It’s not really heavy, but me being 5 ft tall I don’t see me carrying it long distance so I hooked it up to my little wheely kayak cart, strapped it in like I would my hard shelled kayak and off I went. It’s wider than my hard shelled kayak but still worked to wheel it. The cart isn’t too heavy so I could even disassemble the wheels and take that with in the kayak too. Or I might just lock it to a tree. While I hope to never get a leak, the drain valves confused me a bit. I only had a little paddle spray so wasn’t worried about draining water. What I did have to get adjusted to was getting my feet wet to enter the kayak. You can’t scoot it off the shore like a hard shelled kayak. I had to wade in about 10 inches of water to assure that I wasn’t going to scrape bottom and possibly put a hole in it. So now I have to remember to bring a towel to wipe the water from my feet. Also, if you put the skeg on you need to remember how deep you are when you come back in so you don’t scrape the skeg. Looks like I would have to get out in deeper water and wade the kayak back to shoreline. For that reason, I may not use the skeg. One more plus point…there are reinforced tips on both ends that if you would bump into something it wouldn’t give on the tip end. Also think it helps with trailing. One reminder, though, do not kayak over shallow water or where items stick up and could puncture. Guess that point is a no brainer. Hoping this kayak holds up for at least a few years. I’ll have to update reviews each season. If I wipe it down good and let it air dry between trips as they recommend, it should stay new looking and worry free. BUT…OCEANBROAD, IF YOU CHANGE THE SEAT, SEND ME A NEW ONE! I’d up it to 5 stars then, as right now it’s pretty close to that. ... show more

  • Great kayak!
Style: Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
Great inflatable kayak. Set up was very easy. Very comfortable and great tracking. Very sturdy for inflatable kayak. It fits easy into a car trunk when deflated. Inflated it is 10 feet long and needs a long storage space.

  • First Class Boat at an amazing price!
Style: Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
I am eager to get this review out before Prime Days, so it will be helpful to those looking for a great kayak for a great price. I share this in the context of being an experienced kayaker, with a number of nice boats - including a couple of top-of-the-line SeaEagle inflatables. I use the 2 place SE 380X less frequently, now, since the passing of my wife and paddling partner, so I was looking for a one place boat to use on some of our local North Carolina whitewater rivers (Class 3 at my age). Impressed with the great reviews and the surprising price, I bought this V1 last month. So far, I have only had it out on a lake, with my 10 year old grandson, to check if out. Honestly, with the solid drop-stitch floor and the solid construction, I was surprised at the quality of the boat for the price. It is a very complete kit, as well, and finished in beautiful colors. I have yet to get it out on whitewater, but it looks like it is certainly strong enough to handle at least Class 3 rapids. The rather small, but self-sealing scupper holes - 2 on each side, amidships, are a small concern. Hopefully, they will discharge swamping water from rapids and waves quickly enough. My impressions, at this stage, are that this boat will fit right in with the performance I get with my Sea Eagle kayaks. Time will tell. I had not seen this boat before, so I think it's relatively new on the market. I also need to say that I suspect the low price of this V1 is an initial market test - to possibly increase once this boat gets enough good reviews - so, it might be a good move to act now (7/05/24). My initial experience gives me the impression that this boat will be the first of what will be a major manufacturing contender in the inflatable kayak market. I thought I might be taking a chance. Not. This is a great little boat that has solid initial stability and tracks decently with its fin attached. (I will not use the removable fin in whitewater.) The one, minor, con that I can report comes from my leaving the boat folded up in the car overnight. I came out the next day, after the car had been in the sun, and there was the odor of the glue that was used to manufacture the boat. We noticed this, on and off, for a few days - but the scent then faded out. This boat uses the same valve system as my Sea Eagle boats. The quality of all fittings is comparable. Though it comes with a nice manual pump, I used my car electric pump to inflate the boat quickly and easily. I have no connections to this manufacturer, other than as a customer, and received no compensation for this review. I am very pleased with this purchase. If I encounter any changes that are not consistent with my initial review, I'll be back to update this. As it stands, now, I am very satisfied to add mine to a string of 5 star reviews. ... show more

We love it ! This is the first inflatable kayak we have had. We took it out yesterday and we were not disappointed. It is stable, steered well and was as comfortable as two 70 year olds can be 😂 . It hard cased , like a paddle board. That is what we wanted . It only comes with one seat . We used a gel pad up against the end for a second seat .We weigh 390 between the both of us , so we didn’t have a lot of room. But it was stable and we had fun. ... show more

Style: Sky Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
Single seat x 2 kayaks. Excellent inflatable kayak! This product exceeded my own expectations, and I’m very meticulous. The drop stitch floor and overall construction is solid. Valve systems (3 total) perform well during inflation and deflation. The included storage bag actually holds all items and can be hung out of the way on a strong steel hook embedded in a stud. Paddles break down into four pieces which is also nice. The seat is the only thing that may be a little uncomfortable for some. However, I found that it seats/accomodates the kayaker much better while wearing a good neoprene life jacket…extra padding and support I suppose. I’ve owned sit on top, hard shell kayaks and they are heavy and extremely difficult to transport without a trailer. That’s exactly why I sold them and began my research for an inflatable. I have zero regrets on this purchase from Amazon. Rarely do I take the time to write a review. If you’re in the market for an inflatable, I highly recommend the Onbroad. ... show more

  • Minor issues that keep it from being perfect Minor issues that keep it from being perfect
Style: Blue-10.5ft/1 seat
Purchased as an affordable alternative to bigger brands out there. Took it down the Colorado river. My only complaints are that the seat clips do not line up with what is in the photos and as a result. The seating position is a little further forward than would be ideal. Due to this weight balance issue, the kayak fishtails uncontrollably when moving fast and you need to have the rudder in to have any sense of stability while paddling which is less than ideal when going down the Colorado River with lower than avg flow bouncing into rocks and other obstacles. The valves don’t do a great job in evacuating water so a bailer had to be used. Overall good kayak for the price but some minor issues That make it just short of perfect. That being said, this is a great entry level kayak if you are on the fence about going for something double the price and aren’t sure. ... show more
