If you are kayaking, paddle boarding or doing any other water sport where you need to move your arms to row, this is a good vest for that as the arm openings are generous and the best is low profile. If you have a bit of a belly then you may find the material unforgiving and it will run a bit on your thicker area ... show more

Good water best as far as materials and design is concerned, but they need to get their stuff together with the sizing. For those of you buying it for the first time, go 1 size up from you typically wear.

Full disclosure: Received item at no cost with Amazon Vine. I really like the look and feel of this vest, but I cannot really evaluate it as it is way too small for me to put on, even though I chose a size one size up from what I normally wear. I wear a medium in almost all things, with a 39" to 40" chest. My waist is 32", but that is irrelevant unless your waist/belly is larger than your chest. In any case, even though I ordered a Large (thinking that it would be good for guests who might be larger), this vest is so small I cannot even close it. See the picture included with review. On the quality side, it looks well made, and would probably be comfortable. I like the orange lettering of the brand. Latches look strong. Zipper looks to be good. Will not be able to really evaluate until we have a much smaller person try it out, or if the company chooses to send me a much larger size (like XX-Large or XXX-Large). I can't tell if this is a certified life preserver but it does work like a life jacket. I like that it's not too thick of a life jacket but there are some weird things. I got an XL which is what I wear for everything and it isn't close to fitting me and the zipper is on the opposite side like it's a women's vest. So my wife is usually a L sometimes an XL in women's and it fits her great. So this seems like it's more of a woman's size vest then a man but every picture that's listed for the ad is men in the life jacket. So if you're buying for a man, size up one or two sizes and know that the zipper will feel strange. But the jacket works well! This is an excellent quality product that should be rated 5 stars based on the premium materials used and construction, but the sizing is so off. I'm 6ft, 185lbs with a 33 waist, 38 inch shoulders jacket size, the chart measures by waist, but honestly don't bother with their chart. I ordered a small, thinking it must run big. It came in so tiny, like a really tiny vest on a cowboy, it wasn't even able to be zipped. Hopefully, my measurements will help you decide which one to get. The small was way too small, I would probably have gone with a large based on what I know now. I would recommend ordering 2 sizes up from your waist size. Quality wise, this vest is excellent and sleek looking, I'm just going to give it to my son since it would be closer to fitting him then me. ... show more

The quality of this Neoprene Jacket is very nice. It feels great on your skin and it is a great fit. The zipper is easy to use and the buckles snap in securely. The spaces around the arm are comfortable and the way it wears is perfect for water activities. This is a great Personal Floatation Device, but note, it is NOT a lifejacket.
