I’m convinced Oakley designed these while listening to “Danger Zone” on repeat. Slip them on and suddenly you’re not just walking the dog — you’re leading a Tour de France stage (in spirit, anyway). The fit is snug but confident, like a firm handshake from someone who mountain bikes before breakfast. The Prizm lenses make colors pop so hard you’ll think your world just upgraded to 4K. Clouds look fluffier, the road looks smoother, and your reflection looks like it could win a time trial. Fair warning though — they do make you look faster than you actually are. I caught my reflection in a store window and immediately felt guilty for not owning a carbon-fiber bike. Also, if you have a larger head, the fit might be more “motivational compression” than comfort. But the build quality? Rock-solid. The style? Pure confidence. The effect on your ego? Immeasurable. I primarily use these glasses for cycling, especially on sunny days. When it is overcast, I usually reach for my photochromic glasses, but these still perform well, even in lower light conditions. Like most new sunglasses, they took a little time to get used to. When I first put them on, I noticed a slight pinch on my nose, but that went away quickly. Once they are on, I barely notice them at all, and the optics are excellent. When I am riding at higher speeds, being able to clearly see the road ahead is critical, and these glasses have not let me down. Another thing I like is how easily they park on my helmet. They are a bit bulky, so I do not love putting them in my pocket, and storing them in the “garage” on my helmet makes the most sense. In terms of fogging, I have noticed that the Sutros, like most glasses, can fog up a bit, especially on cold mornings when my face is covered for warmth. In terms of durability, I have not had any issues so far. The glasses have held up well and the lens is easy to clean. These were originally listed at $199, which felt a bit steep for sunglasses I was fairly sure I might break. I waited until they went on sale for $99 and picked them up. After wearing them for a while, I can honestly say I would have no problem paying the full $199. I rarely leave the house without them now. ... show more
