  • Terrible. Experience. And sunglasses.
Color: Matte Grey Smoke/Prizm Road Lens Width: 59 Millimeters
Considering how much I paid for this order, this transaction ended with a prompt request for a refund and a trip to the UPS store the same day it was delivered, with a return label in hand! The first bad sign was the dilapidated manufacturer’s box for a completely different model of Oakley sunglasses. I ordered the Flak 2.0 XL, but what I got was what looked like a replica that came off the rack at an AM/PM gas station with HAND PAINTED logos on the temples, housed in a crushed box that was labeled for Oakley Flak Draft sunglasses. I was in absolute shock, disbelief that someone actually took the time to put this monstrosity, this abomination together. It gets better. The description for this unit read “Item shows minimal signs of wear, consistent with being tried on but not used”. The inspector was either drunk, or high, or both because these sunglasses were absolutely filthy. There was fine dirt embedded throughout the ear socks, nose piece, and on the top half of the lenses where they mount to the frame. There was also a film of dried sweat, or hair product, or both, all over the entire frame which acted like glue within the ear socks, making them nearly impossible to remove for inspection or cleaning - what if I wanted to swap the ear socks for a different color? After inspecting the unit thoroughly, I concluded that the only genuine Oakley pieces in this package was the box that was for a different model, the portable storage vault, the ear socks, and MAYBE the lenses. I wasn’t willing to accept a three figure loss for $12 ear socks and a $20 storage case, so this order went straight back. If this was a genuine pair of Oakley sunglasses, they will not be added to my collection. These sunglasses were undoubtedly very comfortable, but felt cheap and fragile with poorly painted logos on the temples. I suggest giving them a try and judging them for yourself. Personally, I didn’t like how close they sat on my face. They fogged up right away because they didn’t breathe well at all and it’s been around 110°F all week “here”. If they had better ventilation and the logos at the temples didn’t look like they were hand painted (with cheap nail polish by a 5 year old), I would have considered keeping them. Overall, the Flak 2.0 XL have a great design concept that’s offered in several colors to suit any occasion. I’d leave a more thorough review, but I got poor replicas... ... show more

  • FLAK 2.0
Color: Matte Black/Prizm Black Polarized Lens Width: 59 Millimeters
Soo, product arrived today with some skepticism and anticipation. Reading other reviews made this purchase concerning. So outer box had some creases but I feel to be expected as it was shipped in soft shell packaging. All internals we’re unharmed. I did some research on Oakley USA for most of the glasses identification marks as this product had exactly the same. To my surprise that this model fit better than my last pair of 2.0’s. Everything was expected- so no surprises. All extras were included (hard case, soft case, spare pair of nose pieces). One of my concerns was the now small writing on the lower left eye piece. As it were you can not even see it so that was a plus. The reason for only a overall 4 stars is that I chose the mirrored “polarized” version in which they are more so see through than my last pair. I was expecting more of that tinted concealment look. However, overall they’re the real deal- fit good- look good, so I am satisfied paying yet under $200 vs Oakley USA starting at $200 minus ship/handling. ... show more

  • Glasses in. box do not match box they came in!
Glasses in box do not match the box they came in. The glasses in the box are OO1988-01, which are the Flak 2.0 XL Standard but the box they came in shows Flak 2.0 XL OO1988-16 Clear Black Irioium Photochromic. These were purchased from the Warehouse at a good price but I am still trying to decide whether to return or keep them. Be sure to check out your purchases. Hope these aren't counterfeit. ... show more

  • Mine are real and look exactly like the glasses in the Oakley Store
Make sure you purchase from Amazon because there is less chance of receiving a fake pair. Mine are real and look exactly like the glasses in the Oakley Store. Moreover, the glasses come with a soft case ($25 sold separately) which is rare for Oakley. The optical quality is fantastic with no visual distortion. The glasses grip my head even when I'm sweating. I swapped-out the ear socks for a black color and it looks a little better than all red. I'm not thrilled with the Oakley Black Prizm Daily Polarized Iridium lenses and really liked the old-style Black Polarized (non-Prizm) lenses better. Oakley states that with Prizm Daily Polarized, dull colors become warm and rich for sharper contrast and a more pleasing, relaxing visual experience. However, I find that colors become too muted and too dull. Uses for this lens are: Everyday, Running and Driving. Colors looked more natural with the older Black Iridium Polarized lens. Oakley constantly reinvents itself; sometimes for the worse. I do love the other Prizm colors like Jade. However, the lens color does not change my review. You can always substitute your lenses later as the frame allows you to remove and add lenses with ease. These glasses are five-star quality - especially with the case included and at the current price of under $130. ... show more

  • Brighter than the photos show. Light weight.
Time will tell but they are very light weight and don't feel extremely durable. I bought these for running and road cycling primarily and they really work well on those fronts. Ther lens do a nice job of making the detail on the road way pop. They are much brighter oon person than the washed out color oon the ad makes them appear. The soft case and case are welcome additions and really nice to have. I typically run with Goodr sunglasses and I'm not sure whether or not these are worth the additional 150 dollars but I had a gift card and hopefully it was well spent. ... show more
