  • Works in a Pinch, But It's Not Good
Needed a 3/2 wetsuit for some unexpected good surf while visiting Florida from Hawai'i. Water was way too cold for me in only boardshorts (been spoiled too long with that tropical blue Hawai'i water..,) and the local surf shops didn't have my size. This was the only Large Short 3/2 wetsuit I could get with next day delivery. The Good: It did the job. And for cheap; barely 100 bucks. Totally warm in 65 degree water on a moderately chilly 45 degree day (probably not objectively all that cold, but it's very cold compared to what I'm used to.) The neoprene was fresh, soft, and reasonably comfortable. I was expecting much less supple rubber for the cheap-o price. Seams were ok, not great. Sizing was true to Large Short. The Bad: The key pocket was just a flimsy rectangle of fabric lightly sewn along the inside of the zipper. No loop or lanyard to lock your key in place, and it did not feel secure. You could easily rip the thing off with your fingertips. It didn't even close with a strip of velcro or anything. I kept thinking I was gonna lose my key and get locked out of my car. Zipper also wasn't great in general. I wouldn't expect it (or the key pocket) to hold up to repeated use. The Ugly: No flush guard. The back zipper is pretty exposed without that flat piece of neoprene covering where your back meets the zipper. This means a lot of water getting into suit all at once from time to time. Didn't affect warmth much, but it caused a lot of very annoying "ballooning," where the sudden flush of water would inflate the small of my back and down to my legs. It was especially bad after deep duck dives and close-out barrels (the official state wave of Florida.) Never had this problem with any other wetsuit. It was a hassle to deal with and very distracting. Overall: While it was a functional wetsuit for a super cheap price, the flimsy key pocket and the absence of a flush guard cost this wetsuit serious points. It was good enough to help me score a few days of chest high beach break tubes on the mainland without freezing, but I would have gladly spent a bit more money and bought something better if it had been an option. No can recommend, brah. ... show more

  • Bravo O'Neill
Bravo O'Neill, for making a suit for short fat guys! I'm 5'6" 205-210 lbs and the LS size fits almost perfectly (Large Short, AKA Short and Fat). I have a shorter inseam than most 5'6" people and I have a big beer belly. The cut of the suit is almost flawless. I'm not even really on the chart for that size, either, but I had a hunch. Never had a wetsuit before, so I tested it out in my 65°F pool and I was nice and warm. Time to ride stand ups in the winter! ... show more

  • I highly recommend this
I use this for scuba diving and I have used the same model/brand/size for years, once a week. There are more size options than for most other brands so you should get a better fit, if your body type is none standard.

  • Great fit
Haven’t gotten out in it yet, but first and foremost it fits! I’m 5’8”/175 with broad shoulders and chest to go with my chicken legs. LS is doing me right. I’ll update after I get out on the water in it.

  • happy customer here
I was worried for the fit (5'9 180 lbs broad shoulder and chest), order a LS and it fits perfectly well! Took it to surf on weekend and couldn't be happier.

  • Great wetsuit, especially for the price
Water comes through the zipper but it's a great suit for the money. I paid $115. Comfortable and good for surfing down to about 63° water temp for me with booties. I'm 5'8" 190lbs and the LS fits almost perfect. Little bit of extra room but that helps with mobility.

  • saved me from fin
Originally I wrote a very bad review for this wetsuit, but today it saved my left calf from a deep gash from one of my fins, so I take it all back. Thanks, Wetsuit!
