    • Great price except for the chin strap not having a buckle

Me: I wear glasses, size XL, head size 61cm on the dot, head shape: intermediate oval,modestly toward round but definitely not halfway toward round. Initial, out-of-the-box: It weighed 1606g on my digital scale. Initial fit seems dead-on accurate (mild chipmunk cheeks, mildly tight, not painful but a little annoying--they break in). All liners completely removable. No audio system cut-outs (I'll figure it out). The one thing that absolutely annoys me is that this helmet only has a D-ring chin strap. Come on, you can add a buckle strap for $2 but now I have to go out on retail and spend $10-$15. This obsession with hitting an MSRP of "$159.99" vs "$162.99" has to end. It's like they know this is going to occur. The padding around the chin strap isn't sewn to the strap so that you can adjust it for the buckle that you will eventually buy. I purchased it because it can be converted to a snowmobile helmet with a few part change-outs (breather box, double-lens anti-fog visor). Those parts are from another brand that sells the same helmet for snowmobiling, see "Castle X Mode Dual Sport SV". First ride: Neither visor used, nose vent open. I was just getting a feel for fit & comfort. It was a maintained forest road in Colorado that eventually turned into an unmaintained road with huge fallen trees that you had to divert around in technical slow tight off-the-road both-feet-on-ground over-smaller-fallen-trees try-not-to-stall heavy-breathing off-the-bike-and-get-it-over terrain. Total 3hrs out and back. It's a comfortable helmet for me. I never once though "this thing is uncomfortable." It will fog up you glasses though on the very slow stuff without either visor. It has a horizontal elastic chin cloth that blocks air from coming up from below so all of your breath goes upward. Colorado is a low-humidity place. I'm torn on cutting that out because that is useful in other scenarios. We'll see. My glasses were a little tight and I had to bend them back into shape because I pulled them off my face a little wrong. I never really thought the tightness of the glasses were a real problem though. They didn't hurt and I didn't notice them except for getting the helmet on and off. Second ride: I'm done with this helmet only because I wear glasses. Colorado is low humidity. It was sort of trying to rain this day. I stopped to adjust something. I couldn't see anything within 10 seconds because my glasses fogged up. This is super annoying. I'm going to find a modular helmet (chin moves up) so I can deal with the glasses fogging up. Seems like a nice comfortable helmet. The visors look like they have good non-distortion. I wish it worked because it fits great and parts are available. I didn't ride at any high speed and used neither built-in visor so go find another review for that. I'd keep the thing if it it didn't make me blind if I come to a stop (or slow crawl). ... show more

IL start by saying it's a nice quality helmet, it's comfortable, I did have to go a size larger and still have a snug fit so deffinitly recommend sizing up. It's very light weight has nice vision and tinted shades are easy to drop. Now the bad- More wind noise than I've ever experienced, it's worse than riding without a helmet to the point where you get a headache after riding longer than an hour. No adjustable air vents- the only adjustment is the mouthpiece which im pretty convinced has little to no impact. It does ventilate nicely. Visor is not removable. Yes you can physically take it off but then your clear windscreen does not properly lock open. The visor catches so much wind your constantly fighting to keep your head straight anything over 40mph. It's gotten to the point where I'm leaning my head forward just to catch a bit of a break. Overall it's not a bad helmet for the price, I'd say if your moreso riding on road then I'd keep looking as it has more disadvantages on road than not. It is a nice crossover helmet and I'd absolutely love it if it had adjustable air vents and a removable visor that still allowed me to use clear glass. I got an XL and it snug, my hat size is 7 5/8" and my cheeks get oressed pretty hard with or without a balaclava. I put a stretcher in to relieve some of the pressure and it helped some. I like the sun visor, it was an unexpected surprise that i didnt realize before ordering. The lens is really the main feature I was drawn to so I didn't have to wear goggles too. But the lens fogs up as soon as I start breathing heavier in rough terrain or out the kid down when its warm. I'll be getting some anti-fog sokuti9n to see if it helps. Otherwise the Helmet is great, it's soft and comfortable inside and the mouthpc works as an adjustable vent, but still doesn't dear out the fog. Over all I give it 4 out of 6, keeping it a ½ size to smalll is my choice. In hindsight, I'd have gotten an XXL but I'm good with this XL ... show more

I just received this helmet and it is super tight! I measured my head according to their sizing. It was at the limit of “L”, so I went “XL” thinking I would be more comfortable with a pinch of wiggle room… turns out my ears fold down and the fit squeezes my head to a mild ache. I am not new to riding, but I am new to O’Neal products. Really hoping I can break this sucker in quickly! ... show more

The look , the fit the function of its features it's very hard to believe it's in this price range. I shopped lots of helmets . I use it for racing my can am x3 in texas offroad series. Heavy helmets will kill u . This thing is awsome.
