Very well constructed and solid product. The instructions are lacking detail and others mention difficulty disconnecting. Note that the connector must be removed from the mounting bracket before trying to separate the connection. There is also a second cover over the screws on the battery side that must be separated to expose the screws. Once you figure out how to take it apart, it's a very good design. ... show more

Used for Sub Woofer speaker/amp. Really nice for quick removal of the sub/amp. Unit makes a really good connection and meters minimal resistance. It's rated for more amps that i will ever need. If you're using quality amp stranded wire, the 4ga wire terminals work best when using ferrules - if not the wire tends to squish out when tightening. I bought two of these for 2 different set-ups and I can change them out without any rewire in the vehicle. Would recommend. ... show more

This plug is pretty much un-useable, way too tight, required significant effort to separate, and that is uninstalled and with no cables connected. Attempting to separate with leads connected would surely detach cables from the forceful handling required to attempt separation.

    • Works well
This is really nice to have. I used mine as a disconnect and basically a reducer. I ran a larger guage wire than I needed to get the power closer to my amp for less voltage drop, then from this block to the amp, I ran the maximum guage my amp would accept. Works great.

Bought this connector for my amp. Chose this one over the Scosche because it had a mount (allegedly) to hold the connector in place on my rig. Unfortunately I didn't receive the mount (like many other reviewers) I sent an email about this missing part.... Some time has passed and still no action. Plug is quality though. ... show more

Like the title implies, well built and certainly thoughtful with the remote wire in one block, but like some of the other reviews, somewhat cumbersome to disconnect. Also worried that over time and use, the latch pin will give out. Also found I have to wiggle a bit to get the spades aligned to insert properly.     • Good connector, not so great mount.
It’s pretty easy to connect and disconnect, but getting the connector out of the mount to do so is not very easy. I haven’t even mounted it yet, and it’s still a little tricky to remove, so I can only imagine it will be worse when it is mounted. Main problem is the mount is a super rigid plastic so the clips have very little give. Still glad I got it though, basically the only 4AWG quick connect with a remote wire. ... show more

A couple thingsthey could do better is having securement that allows for the car or the amp side to be screwed down. As well as a way to put the wire in some and have only the insulation showing. Might need an extra 3/8 an inch of plastic shroud that could cover the possibly bare wire and make the holes a little deeper with out the little screws poking in on the inside of the connection.
