Description

This Aluminum table suction vise is economical, and functional. Its jaws are lined with tough rubber, and will not scratch precious objects. The ball and socket configuration allows the jaws to be tilted and rotate 360 degrees, but holds jaws firmly in place at any angle.     • Not worth the money. No wonder it was so inexpensive.
The only reason I gave it two starts is because it looks like a vise. This losses its grip almost immediately. I needed it for holding small parts to solder and it will loose its vacuum in seconds. I've tried it on my bench (which is smooth veneer). I've even tried it on a glass table top and it just will not hold. Also, the jaws do not line up well so there is a gap on one end. Referencing the reason I bought it, it will not hold small parts because of this. It wouldn't mate if it did since it won't hold vacuum it just moves all over the place. I would not recommend this device to anyone. ... show more

I can't get this thing to latch onto a smooth surface no matter how hard I press the lever. Seems like there is an engineering or a manufacturing problem with the latching mechanism. I'm afraid I'll break or bend something if I push the lever any harder.
