  • This is the one!
Color: Black
After a few tries with different brands, this one is the one. As described, this works with active pickups (it may require that you use a 1/4” TS extender to move the transmitter away from the internal electronics) Purchased on 8/7 and used the same day at a gig, (Thanks Amazon Overnight!) and it worked flawlessly with no noise and strong signal. Very easy to setup, as it hunts for a clean channel on its own, and pairs itself. I currently use with two Ibanez basses (4 and 5 string) as well as a Sire Marcus Miller 5 string. All have active pickups. The Marcus Miller has humbuckers with a toggle switch. All were completely noise free. The charging case is awesome, as I can just put the tx and rx units in the case during the band break, and never have to worry about not having enough juice to last the night. This alone justifies the additional cost. I use a 1 foot male to male 1/4” patch cable along with a 1/4” female to female “gender changer” to move the transmitter off the body (see picture). I used a little gaff tape to secure the transmitter to my guitar strap. This is definitely the more expensive option of the inexpensive wireless systems, but this seems to be the best performer in my opinion. ... show more

  • Very good wireless system
Color: Black
I've had this for 3 years now, it has been very reliable. I'm a part time pro, since I've had it, I've used it 3 to 5 hours at a time 4 to 5 times a week, for practice at home, at rehearsals, and performances. It has not let me down. The sound quality is very good, with the cable tone activated, there is a VERY tiny difference in sound compared to a cable, but you will need extremely sensitive ears to hear it. With the cable tone off, there is a noticeable treble boost. I've heard people talk about latency issues, but I have never noticed anything with this unit. I can't recommend it enough, if it wa stolen, I'd replace it immediately. ... show more

  • Nice and Very Convenient Wireless Guitar System!
Color: Black
I bought this based on the reviews I read and some Youtube videos. I've used in two gigs, a couple of rehearsals, and in my studio. So far I've been very happy. It's very easy to set up and use. Power up the transmitter and the receiver, hold them together, and you're done! A guitarist in one of the bands I work with has the same system and there were no conflicts during the two gigs. It has some range, and sounds very good. It's advertised to work with active pickups and it works as advertised on my Fender EC Strat and Takamine TAN15 acoustic. It doesn't work with my Ovation acoustic though. Not exactly sure why. Not a game changer. So I'd actually give it 4.5 stars if that rating existed. I'd recommend this system. ... show more

  • Works Great - With One Modification for Active Basses with Balanced Outputs
Color: Black
I was excited to see this upgraded model of this wireless guitar system the NUX B-5RC, and that it works with active electronic systems. I found that this is not 100% the case, but let me explain.. As soon as I got the device, I hooked it into my bass and found that I had 2 detents in my output jack. The device worked great in the 1st detent, but only in passive EQ mode. When switching to active mode, the sound cuts out. So I pushed the device all the way into the second detent. Again works great on passive mode, but as soon as I switch to active mode, the device thinks it's in the charger and cuts out. I was really disappointed that due to my balanced output jack configuration on my bass I couldn't use it. I would not be defeated in this process though. So I went out and bought a 3 foot balanced cable, cut it down to 18 inches, and and soldered it up to an unbalanced output jack. Wiring up the tip and the ring of the balanced side to the tip of the unbalanced side. The sleeves remained matched up. I plugged everything in and boom it works perfectly in active and passive mode with no signal loss. After figuring that all out. It works perfectly for a 3 Hour set with zero transmission issues or drop outs. Sounds just like I'm connected with a cable with un-noticeable latency. I would recommend these for any player that is using a passive setup. Would be nice if they included this simple 5 dollar adaptor cable that I made up for all of us active bass players to be able to use this tool as well. ... show more

  • Best Wireless for the money
Color: Black
Stop scrolling thru all of the different wireless options because this is the one you're looking for. No latency, no channels to mess with, no sound loss on clean tones, battery lasts 6 hours straight, the case recharges them at the push of a button, the jack angle is flexible but still strong enough to stay in whatever position you put it in, all of it is made out of great material (no cheap plastic), the transmitter mutes at the touch of a button so you can switch guitars or pedals etc, the light color indicates battery life left, and the receiver has a vintage cable tone at the push of a button if that's your thing. There is no better option out there for the money. Ditch the cables and grab one of these, I'm telling you that you'll be recommending them to everyone. ... show more
