These are great for a hot yoga class. I’ve been using these for years of classes. They don’t have the artificial sweetener flavor that bugs me about other types. I pop one in my bottle on the way to the gym and it’s fully dissolved by the time I get there. Not too sweet and easy to drink.

I thought I was ordering the Nuun rehydration tablets but what I got was the new Nuun ACTIVE. Looks like this is replacing the old ones which maybe are not going to be available anymore. (?) A quick look at the list of ingredients shows they have made a number of changes. Probably to avoid compounds that were a concern. Pro - I've only just started using them and, so far, only one flavor, but I think I like the taste better. Con - there are only 10 tabs per cylinder. They are thicker than the old ones but still each tab is to be mixed with 16 oz of water. So the cost per tab is a bit higher. In my 25 oz water bottles I use 1 1/2 tabs each fill up. Still I am giving five stars. These are incredibly convenient for cycling. I keep a tube in my saddle bag, fill up with free ice and water at McDonald's or 7-11 or wherever and then add the NUUN. In Florida summer heat and humidity I consume about 25 oz every 10 miles and these are a big help in staying properly hydrated. Update. I saw all the negative reviews about the new NUUN. So i tried the grape flavor, may have mixed it a bit strong too. Yes it has an odd taste and some aftertaste but old NUUN had an odd taste too. I think long time users may have gotten used to the old taste and unexpected change can be hard. The old NUUN would sometimes give me just a bit of a sick feeling in my stomach especially if I drank it warm. This new formula does not seem to do that. 45 miles on the bike today in Florida heat and humidity. I consumed five waterbottles that's 125 oz and 7 1/2 tablets. No problems. I am happy with the new NUUN. Only wish there were 12 tabs per cylinder. Also, new thicker tabs tend to get stuck in the cylinder and are hard to shake out. ... show more

Intro: remember that hydration status influences energy, pain, mood, recovery, and bowel regularity. in fact this product is based on oral rehydration therapy - the idea of replacing your fluid losses orally as opposed to intravenously. the american physiologist who conceived this idea was awarded by the King of Thailand as it has saved over 50 million lives from Cholera which can cause life-threatening diarrhea due to dehydration. Now this level of dehydration is not a first world problem, but its mild-moderate severity is universally common. pros: makes staying hydrated easier, whether that be for activities, studying, or working - all scenarios where one can forget to drink up. variety of flavors makes it easier to not get bored of it. packaging is as slim as possible decreasing waste. also a desiccant has been built into the lid to keep tabs dry. tabs are scored so they can be easily snapped in half which you'll need to do in order to drop into disposable water bottles. cons: many of the flavors are similar - lemon/lime, citrus, and orange. should consider a larger variety of global flavors. such as cooler versus tropical locations. Simply consider skittles and their profiles. i wish an alternative to plastic could be thought of that were more eco-friendly for packaging. conclusion: if you're too lazy to whip up your own oral-rehydration salts from scratch (salt, sugar, baking soda, water), this is a great alternative. just wish they could add a little more variety to the flavor combinations. also this was selling for nearly half-off on WholeFoods online, and is sometimes cheaper in stores so keep an eye out for deals. ... show more

I got these to use for hot weather when I’m outside all day and sweating a lot. I also plan to use them in my water while I’m in labor to stay hydrated. The tablet takes a bit to dissolve fully in the water. I had to break one up so it would fit into the opening of my bottle of water. I don’t like the taste of plain water, so these tablets help me keep up my water intake with some nice, light fruit flavors. I like all of the flavors. To me, it tastes like fruity, watery, alka seltzer-gatorade. It is not very sweet, but I like it like that. Just enough of a flavor to make me want to drink it, but not super sweet like a lot of sports drinks. (My husband hates the taste and wants it to be much sweeter.) I feel better too after I drink it, like it actually is replenishing the electrolytes. I would buy this again. ... show more
