Our Toy Poodle likes this Toy Breed size kibble for Breakfast. It supplies her with protein, fruits & Vegetables. She has her wet food in the evening. GiGi is very picky and she chooses Nutro Ultra! The 4lb. Bag is more manageable for a 7.5 lb dog.

I have spent 12 years on and off trying unsuccessfully to find a healthy dry kibble my Chihuahua would eat. Super finicky eater. Plus, being older he has lost quite a few teeth and the few he has left aren't in the best shape. Figured at this point he probably wouldn't eat any kibble due to the teeth issue even if he wasn't already picky. But I wanted something he could snack on during the day while I'm at work and this sounded like a good, healthy option so figured why not just give it a try. I hand fed him a couple of kibbles successfully then stood back to see what he'd do. I'll be darned if he didn't approach his bowl and start chowing down!!! I couldn't believe it and am absolutely thrilled! The kibble is super tiny so he has no issues eating it even with the few bad teeth he has left, and it must taste good because he ate quite enthusiastically. I am so pleased I finally found something he likes and will definitely be buying this from now on! ... show more

Nutritionally this dog food is loaded with really good ingredients. My three rescue Pomeranians have tiny teeth and I found that by adding water or a broth of sorts to the kibble that helped to soften the beads. The size was good but the crunch was too hard for my little guys. Other than that they seemed to like this product. I am still experimenting with other dry dog foods at this time. This product would be perfect if it came in a small softer form for my dogs needs, but I would have to say again that it has wonderful ingredients for dogs. ... show more

We find our two gals (ages eight and ten) (ten and eight pounds respectively) love this fine product to which we add: hard-boiled eggs ( chopped - 1/4 egg per dog) , boiled and ground chicken thighs ....and boiled and ground chicken liver for a "topping" and enhanced flavor and nutrition. They vacuum (inhale - almost) their A.M. food without any hesitation~! We plan to see them add years and good health for an additional decade! YES! ... show more

The kibble is perfect size for little toys.... and evidently the flavor is fabulous - nothing needs to be added to "coax" and we all have put some chicken broth, cottage cheese, turkey bites, etc just to get your little one to eat... nope! Those days are done for me. I feed them each 2 Tablespoons in the AM and 2 in the PM and they gobble it right up. It's 4 lbs, and fits perfect in my Tupperware cereal container and it's fresh. I have it on auto order. BEST FOOD Nutromax has made. Added BONUS: hard kibble is great for teeth, gums, and they NEVER get sick or have runny stools. Yes, a tad pricy - but the counter to that is I don't pay MANY VET bills at ALL. Their coats are easy to care for. The ONLY other thing they get is a mini milk bone. NO table scraps. Happy dogs! What can I say? We have a rather small for the breed Shih Tzu, about 6 or 7 pounds, and after buying countless bags of $15 to $25 dog kibble we finally found one she likes and readily eats without all of the coaxing or having to add meat broth. Color mom and dad happy! We do have to wet it a little because she doesn't like to crunch up really hard food. The kibble is very small but is also hard as a rock, so softening it makes it easier for her to chew. It would be nice if someone would come out with a healthy, semi-dry food that is not messy, but softer and easier for the little ones to chew. Wallyworld has an "Ol' Roy, Moist and Meaty" semi-dry food that is like that, but it's so full of dyes, preservatives, meat by products and additives, we refuse to feed it to her. The bits in Kibbles and bits are too big but she'll eat them if we cut into smaller pieces, but again with the potentially harmful ingredients. Bottom line, our spoiled rotten, pampered, fussy little baby is eating this food. Mom and dad are happy. If any dog food companies read this and make a food like I described, and make millions of $, I want a cut for the idea. lol PS. NEVER feed your pet anything made in China. Our little pup almost died from a kidney and bladder infection and crystals in her urine after eating chicken wrapped chews that were made in China and sold by Walmart. No way to prove it, but the vet we paid hundreds of dollars to save her said it was the most likely cause due to banned ingredients proven to be used in the process. It's not just Walmart though. Read the label at any store that sells pet treats. Most of them are made in China. If doesn't say "Made in the USA" don't feed it to your pets. Most stores are going to stop offering items made in China because of all the issues and recalls. They found banned in the US antibiotics and an ingredient or contaminant that causes urinary tract infections and crystals in the urine that can cause bladder stones and some pets have allegedly died from complications associated with these products. They will not be discontinued immediately but sometime in 2015. I suppose that allows them to sell the inventory on hand but apparently with no concern for the harm it can cause our pets. ... show more
