I hate to rate vitamins and suppliments even though I take a ton of them..... OK, OK, not at TON, but a bunch.... Got me to 87 years old, and I am doing pretty good... As far as the Alpha Lapoic Acis I take, it is about the only suppliment that I take tht my doctor said to take. So I do. I really don't know what happened to my free radical count over the three years since she told me to start with it. Every year, at my annual wellness visit (phseee, I meant my annual physical), she asks if I am taking it and I say yes. OK. Five stars. ... show more

I take this because I've read its good for my disintegrating retinas. I had been taking one a few times a week but bumped up to daily then started having headaches. I Googled for info but didn't find any connection between taking ALA and headache. But then I saw that ALA can lower blood sugar and one sympton of low blood sugar is headache. So maybe that was it, my blood sugar level was too low. Now I'm back to taking ALA a few times a week and the headache is gone. ... show more
