It looks just like the picture. I put it together with some friends and they all loved the color, is comfortable and appealing to the eye. Putting it together is a bit hard, due to the angles of the screws and the little range provided. I was a little hesitant to purchase this couch due to the lack of detailed reviews, but I still decided to take a risk after seeing the overall sentiment was positive. From carrying this to my apartment to the final product, here is my honest review: Packaging - Whether this was UPS or Novogratz's fault, the couch came ripped (see second photo), which was really a bummer. Besides a thin cloth cover, the couch was not well protected at all. No extra padding. The origin destination was Georgia to my destination in New Jersey, so all this to say if you're any farther than I am from Georgia, don't be alarmed if something is ripped or damaged. - The method of packaging is clever. Novogratz puts the two arm rests inside the main compartment so that the overall box isn't bulky. I was able to drag this into my apartment by myself. Assembly - The box came with the main compartments, a small box of hardware, and a booklet of instructions. The instructions could have been a little more clear, but I was able to assemble everything in half an hour. I'm not confident in how long the bolts and screws will last, so I'll probably use some Loctite and re-assemble everything again. - Converting to the futon was easy. There are hidden legs in the back of the couch that you can unzip and reveal to support it when it's flat. Build and Durability - My biggest doubts are regarding the craftsmanship and durability. In my third photo, you'll see that the velvet was barely stapled, not only presenting an unfinished look but also becoming a safety hazard if you have children or pets. Moreover, this effort was clearly attempted to hide the back side of the couch where a piece of wood was completely missing. - I'm not sure if it's just mine, but when I leaned back, it did not feel sturdy at all. I was really afraid to fully relax my weight, so I'm not sure if I would recommend 2-3 people on this couch all at once, unless it was propped up against a wall. I'm compelled to prop this against my wall, but the layout would be awkward. I'm disappointed Novogratz or the manufacturer didn't put more thought into this area. Appearance and Comfort - As my review title says, this couch is beautiful. I ordered the pink blush color. While the photos come off slightly brown, the velvet has a nice sheen and twinge of pink. - The couch is firm. If you're used to soft, plush couches, this isn't for you. Maybe the material will soften over time with use, but I don't see this couch lasting that long anyways. Overall, this couch isn't awful, but it's not amazing. With the same amount of money, I feel like you could get a much sturdier and well-built couch that you can fully relax on. I'm still trying to reach customer support regarding the rip. If they get back to me, I'll update my review. Update December 2020: I contacted both the manufacturer DHP and Novogratz - neither said they would be able to help with a repair, replacement, or return. ... show more

I have not had the couch for long so I cannot comment on how it will hold up but as of right now I am very happy with it! It came in a box in a timely manner and the color was exactly as show in the picture. The assembly was rather easy and it’s not super heavy so moving it up my stairs was more than easy for two people. It is a little more on the form side which I actually prefer and it is certainly a good value for the price. Over all very happy and would purchase again! ... show more

I really like this couch. It looks very nice in my apartment and it was good for my visitors to sleep in. It is more of a light lilac color but that was okay. Assembly was very easy and quick for me, but i do recommend working with another person. It is rather stiff but I prefer stiff couches rather than cushiony. But yes, do be careful when assembling this couch because if one screw is lost than you’re screwed lol. ... show more

For the price, it makes sense. If you need a small sofa, this is a good one. It’s cute and easy to put together. It is small and definitely not cushy sofa. It does have style to it. Not unhappy but dreaming of finding a ‘real’ sofa to fit in my little home.

If your monitor is showing a dusky navy sort of color this is not that color. It is a royal blue. I'd consider it a very blue type of blue. If you're doing primary colors or like a bluer color you may still want it but it is not as shown.
