These pants are perfect for hiking. They are cargo style and can be rolled up easily. I love how fast they dry when they get wet and the extra packets are perfect for carrying along snacks and bandages. They are on the large side though. I would recommend sizing down. They are also a little bit long. So other than the size being a little off, these pants are a 10.

These are nice synthetic outdoor pants that is comfortable, easy to wear, quick to dry. Great for outdoor activities. They are somewhat water resistant. Light water will just roll off. If they get really wet they will dry quickly when airing out. The material is light weight and comfortable to wear in the warmer weather. All the pockets are zippered closed with a flap. They are designed to keep water out. All the large zipper pulls gets in the way a little bit. If you like the utilitarian look you will like it. I find the decorative thread on the zipper pulls not very consistent (see photos) The belt is closed with a plastic insert / tab. Not the best design. I will probably just replace it with my regular belt. Overall it is a nice activity pair of pants. The quality is fair. Hence 4 stars.

These pants are comfortable to wear. The fabric material is breathable and thick enough to protect the legs from bushes and tall grasses while hiking. The zippers are hard to open or close with a single hand. They are quite rigid. I personally don't like this, but on the positive side, your pocketed goods should be safe kept in there. These is no elastic on the waist. This is a plus and also poses a negative point on the fitting because you may need to use a belt. The clasp mechanism on the belt that comes with the pants is not very good. Its design is prone to wear and eventually fail to stay in place. However, so far, after a weekend hike and 2 washes, the pants and the included belt are still performing as new. Durability will be put to the test during Spring and Summer and extended periods of use and several cycles of washing.

These pants would be a pretty good bargain if they were try to size. I've been a pretty consistent 30-30 for the last 10 years so size small should fit nicely but these pants are significantly larger in every metric. Which is probably why it includes a belt. It almost feels like they knew it was too large and through in the belt out mitigate the size issue. So if you have the opportunity to size down absolutely size down. If you are a size small consider a different pair of pants. Because of my disappointment with these pants, I went and bought a pair of Tactical distributors Neptune pants for about $30 that do the job significantly better. Now that we've discussed the size and issue let's move on to the pants themselves. They're actually pretty nice. With a good amount of flex. The knees are gasketed which means that you have good freedom movements. The fabric is lightweight and relatively breathable. I wouldn't describe these as waterproof, these aren't rain pants. But they are decently water resistant and will shed water for a reasonable amount of time. The zippered pockets are a mixed bag. The two front pockets and single rear pocket are largely fine and are a good size. But the 2 cargo style pockets don't cut it in my opinion. They are too small to be really useful for anything. Having zipper access on the side instead of the more conventional top means that things that aren't pieces of paper will fall out when you unzip it. And I find the pockets too low on the leg. All the zippers have pretty high profile zipper pulls. They are a long a wide strip with a plastic piece at the end. They're easy to find and pull when you need them. Which is good. But they are so high profile that they catch on things but you're annoyance and experience with the bulls catching on things may very depending on your use. The belt is nothing to write home about it's just a cheap cloth belt. It's not stiff enough for my needs so I have no real reason to use it. If you're able to size down and get this pants to fit, the pants are good enough that they don't need a cheap belt to add value.

Overall these seem like a good pair of pants for outdoor activities. They are lightweight and breathable, water runs off them easily, and they are of a generic-enough style to be appropriate for many different events. The elastic waistband is a comfortable touch. My primary dislike is that the pockets are on the small side, save the one back pocket which is as large as the others are small. In particular I question what one is expected to carry in the side pockets, which are approximately 7 inches tall and 4 inches wide (the front pockets are about 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide, and the back pocket is about 9 inches wide and 7.5 inches deep). Also, the D-ring feels a bit flimsy and I question how much weight it could safely support. To be fair, though, I did some hard tugging on the D-ring and didn't see any bending or cracking on the ring itself.
