I needed a pair of sneakers for bike riding as my existing sneakers had either too soft a sole and too high (running shoes) or the upper wasn’t meant for that much bending (casual sneakers). I usually wear a 6.5W in most athletic shoes and hiking boots. But after reading the reviews and looking hard at the manufacturer’s pictures, I ordered a 6.5. For comparison: my other athletic sneakers are Ryka or New Balance sneakers and Columbia hiking boots. Rarely do I purchase regular (“B”) widths in those brands. These Nortiv 8 fit fine! I have high and now collapsing arches and a narrow heel. Happy to say my feet feel comfortable and supported without adding arch supports. Note: I don’t consider my feet necessary wide but like most people, I have two feet that aren’t shaped alike! The only thing I didn’t like was the thin elastic laces. They were just too thin and the tongue of the shoes slid around too much. I happened to have a pair of thicker elastic laces so I cut the original laces off and put the ones I had on. I’m as ASICS girl, I’ve used them for running, hiking, traveling.. but I wear them out so fast with all the miles, I can’t justify the price with how quickly ASICS wear out. I tied these - and I’m glad I did. Pros: -they’re comfortable -good traction / grip - nice colors, attractive shoe - I LOVE the laces. No tying, just cinch up Neutrals: - the material is synthetic. Appears cheap, but what running shoe isn’t made of cheap material? Looks well stitched together, I expect it’ll hold up as well as any other shoe. - less cushion/squish than I’m used to, but I’m not sure that’s bad Cons: -medium arch support. It’s not flat, but if you need a LOT of support this may not be for you. Overall, I’m a huge fan. Great shoe for the price point. ... show more

Just wore these straight out of the box on a four mile hike. No complaints at all. So comfortable! Was a warm-ish day, wore thick socks and these were breathable enough to not make my feet sweaty and gross. Fit true to size. Love them, definitely recommend.

I normally don't write reviews, but I LOVED THESE SHOES!!! I brought them on a trip to Africa and wore them every single day, walking around and they are so comfortable! I hadn't worn them before this trip and they were broken in by the end of the first day of wearing. They are very lightweight yet supportive and a great overall walking/activity/hiking shoe. We played volleyball, hiked, and relaxed and these shoes were perfect. I wear an 8.5 always in shoes and ordered 8.5 here and they were true to size. Super easy to slide on and haven't had to adjust the tightness or anything so they were perfect. Purchased as a gift, they look good, are very comfortable and have good grip. She wears them often for dog walking so its about 3 hours walking on pavement and grass 3 or 4 times weekly. Two months in, the sole shows a lot of wear, and the front is coming apart. They are good, but quality need to be improved. Update: the seller contacted me and offered a full refund. I wore these on an 18-day trip through the Alps with plenty of hiking, and they performed really well overall. They were very comfortable and held up nicely throughout the trip. The only issue I experienced was that the tongue rubbed against the front of my ankle, which caused some bruising. I didn’t deduct any stars for this, as it may not be a problem for everyone. I had considered a more expensive pair with more cushioning, but instead went with these and added an insole. That combination worked great for me. ... show more

I’m very pleased with these hiking shoes. At 61 years old, comfort is a top priority for me, and these definitely deliver. They are both comfortable and stylish, which is exactly what I was looking for, especially with a hiking trip to Utah planned for the first week of May. I’ve been wearing them regularly to break them in, and so far I have no complaints at all. The quick lace system makes them very easy to put on and adjust, which is especially helpful since my feet tend to swell. They provide a secure fit without feeling tight.
