  • Excellent Boots
Size: 9 Color: Black
Excellent pair of boots!! The fit is true to size. I love the wide toe box and the minimal heel lift. I have some tread wear, but it no worse than the Merrells and Altras that I have owned. They are indeed waterproof, I have hiked across streams and have worn them in rainy weather and they have kept my feet dry. The cushioning is excellent too. The CONS: the waterproof lining in the boots makes them hot to wear in the summertime and they are on the heavy side so I probably would not recommend for really long hikes or multi day hikes. I would also prefer if the top couple of eyelets were hooks instead, but I suppose that’s just a personal preference. Overall, I love the boots…. They are very comfortable and great for day hikes and for general day to day wear. ... show more

  • NORTIV 8 Wide Toe Box. Very nice boot.
Size: 13 Color: Black
I stand on black top and gravel all day and I have searched for a boot that fits correctly and is comfortable all day at work. This boot does that. I like the wide toe box and the cushion of the boot is very nice. These boots are every bit as comfortable as another MUCH more expensive boot I own and for a quarter of the price. They seem very well made and very durable. They keep my feet warm on colder days and are not too heavy as apposed to other "hiking" boots I have owned. I can't say how long these will last, but for the price I am very impressed so far. ... show more

  • Good boot, reasonable price.
Size: 12 Color: Coyote
Appears to be a good hiking boot. Inexpensive, water-resistant lining has held up through six months of twice-daily pupwalks through the woods, off-road/trail, one to three miles a day. Comfortable for wide feet. Well-cushioned. You will need to treat with a silicone spray or equivalent to approach "waterproof status, and the insoles need replacing if you have high arches. No surprises there, and no matter how much you pay for hiking boots, high arch support requires special insoles and the outside will need waterproofing. At this price point, if they hold up for a year or more, they are a worthwhile purchase. UPDATE - After over a year of relatively hard use as yard chore boots and averaging 3-4 miles a day over uneven, unimproved terrain, I can say these boots are holding up remarkably well. No manufacturing or durability issues. If you are over 200 lbs., have high arches, need a very wide toe box, and do not care about country of origin, these boots are an excellent choice right out of the box. The only reasonably priced American-made option is Keen, and then you should get the Keen M50 inserts to accommodate high arches and gain some cushioning, since the standard Keen footbed absolutely sucks. The Keen Targhee 4 runs ~$180 and the M50 inserts are ~$50. The Chinese-made Nortiv8 boots are ~$60. Merrell wide boots (I have owned literally dozens of Merrels over the years) fit just as well as both the Keen and Nortiv8s, are now made only in China or Thailand, and still cost two to four times as much as these Nortiv8s. I run Keen Targhee 4s as my daily, all-around "out and about" footwear. With the M50 footbed, they are flawless for me and are American made. The Nortiv8 however, is my new disposable, "kick-around the garage and yard" boot. Caveat; I treat every boot I purchase with a waterproofing technique and replace the laces with bungee paracord and barrel connectors for a quick-lace setup, so I cannot comment on the Nortiv8 out-of-the-box waterproofing nor lace performance... Beyond that, if you do not care about country of origin and are on a budget, these boots are a smart, very worthy choice. ... show more

  • I like these hiking boots, very comfortable!
Size: 10.5 Color: Coyote
I really like these boots! I found around on concrete floors all night on second shift and these are every bit as comfortable as an expensive pair of walking sneakers, they're very lightweight despite being waterproof. The big toe box is already nice and wide for your toes to expand while you walk and the boot is wide enough down the sides so your feet don't get sore. They seem like they will be fairly durable in both the life of the boot itself and the soles of the boot, they feel like the have good traction and grip. I'd definitely recommend these boots, they feel just as comfortable as sneakers. Buy them! Your ankles, knees and back will thank you! ... show more
