  • Awesome boot all around... but not waterproof
Size: 9.5 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
I really really wanted to like these boots, but I just couldn't... Pros : - Fit great out of the box - I usually have to size up or go for a wider size. Not these. Perfect -No break-in period. Comfy and good to go as soon as I started walking -Construction seems good for the price point Cons: - They are not waterproof or even water resistant. They soak up water like a sponge. The description online goes between waterproof and water resistant. On the boot itself is a metal bar that states "waterproof". They are neither. Application : I walk my dog in a field every morning. There is accumulated water ( dew) in the grass. I happen to not like wet socks and wet feet so I needed a pair of field boots. These seemed to fit my need with a decent price point. After the first day of walking water started to soak through... after only a 15-minute walk in wet grass. Again, I really wanted to like them so I tried to apply some waterproofing from a well-known company, spray-on type. I followed the directions and that didn't help, still soaks water like a sponge. Result : Back to amazon. I would recommend it if you need a hiking boot or overall field boot that is absolutely NOT waterproof. I bought a pair of Wolverine trade wedges and couldn't be happier. Those are comfy and waterproof. Update: 11/2/23 Customer service reached out and replaced my original boots with a different model that was waterproof. I am very happy with the customer service - they really went above and beyond to help me, many other companies would not take the time to reach out to their customers, understand the problem, and then offer to solve it for them.... in short, I am really impressed with their customer service. I've worn the new boots several times while walking my puppy and they are just as comfortable as the ones they replace- and this model is waterproof( has a rubberized coating). I don't know how they will wear over time but they seem well made and I am only using them lightly every day so I feel like they will last. I changed my rating to 5 stars because of the outstanding customer service. ... show more

  • Excellent Bang for the Buck!
Size: 13 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
First, I am somewhat of a gear snob and usually spend between $150 and $250 for boots of this type for this purpose; and I am not a youngster, so I have been through many miles and pairs of boots over the years; and a high percentage of them in the wilds of Alaska. These aren't Scarpa, Danner, La Sportiva, Lowa, or Salomon quality; but they aren't priced anywhere near those brands either; and so far, I don't think you can beat the "bang-for-the-buck". All that said, this is an INITIAL review as I just recently received these and can't speak to their durability. What I can speak to is the following. They are a visually attractive boot that are lightweight and appear to be fairly well made. I took them right out of the box and was so impressed with their flexibility that I took them on about an eleven mile trek combining both on and off trail, just north of the Arctic Circle without breaking them in. Not smart, I know, but I am somewhat of a gambler and won this one as I had no problems and was comfortable. I followed that up the next day with a similar almost fourteen mile trek with similar results. The third day, I backed it off to about an eight mile jaunt on a little more challenging terrain, predominately off trail, and aside from a couple of hot-spots on the top of my middle toes (probably due to lighter weight socks), I had no problems at all. My feet stayed dry and for the most part comfortable; and the boots provided good support and traction. I will have to wait and see how they hold up (and I suspect that they probably won't match the durability of the aforementioned brands), but given the SIGNIFICANT difference in price, and the similarity in performance, I would highly recommend these boots to anyone; and ESPECIALLY to anyone that isn't already familiar with the fit and characteristics of some of the higher priced boots, because they don't all fit the same and they have different characteristics, and by the time you find out exactly what those factors are and how well they fit your needs, it is usually too late to return them. I will report back on durability if and when I get a chance. ... show more

  • Comfortable and snug.
Size: 9 Color: Brown/Black/Tan
I would have given these shoes 5 stars because of their comfort, design, warmth, durability, water resistance, etc, etc. Great value for their price! Not really anything negative to say about these… Except… Only after about 2 weeks of wearing, one of the top lace hooks broke on me. I like to wear my shoes with the laces tight, but I have never had a hook break on any shoe before now. I can still wear with only using the bottom hooks. This is the only reason for a 4 star review. ... show more

  • Best boots I have ever owned.
Size: 12 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
This is the third or fourth pair of boots we have purchased and the quality is unreal for the price. The Wolverines? ripped in one month, the Red Wings soles gone in 3 months. Wee were at a loss, seemed like we bought the most expensive boots to get the work out of them we needed. It was a mistake, the money we spent was a waste, I walk a great deal over the worst terrain, these boots did not rip, separate, come apart. they are comfortable and fairly light. My first pair lasted a year before water started to get in somewhere, but otherwise the integrity was good, and they are extremely comfortable. I have purchased no other boots since and I have not regretted it. They run true to size, and as a precaution I started spraying them with a waterproofing spray. You will not regret this purchase. ... show more

  • So far so good
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Taupe-suede
I just bought these boots a few weeks ago. So far they are what I needed. Very comfortable and also good quality made. You may want to buy an an extra size bigger if you plan on using thermal socks like I am for the winter. I did this and they fit great. They are fairly warm also.
