We're pleased with the acrylic book holder. I was unsure if it would accommodate a large (many pages) cookbook, but I am glad it does! It's high-quality and sturdy. While I do not use an iPad when cooking, I can see how it would work well with it, too.

13 years ago (in 2011) I bought this cookbook holder to prop up and protect my cookbooks & cooking magazines while cooking. I'm not intentionally a messy cook but I hate it when spatters mar pages. I like that the pages are protected by the way the recipe stands in the holder. However, if you have a “floppy” notebook, it will bend backwards so you’ll need to support it somehow

it does what it is suppose to do hold a book open. I can lay on floor and read a book while laying on my back exercising. work's fine.
