I have been looking for some cotton turned down socks to wear with white tennis shoes. Everything seems to be polyester. Even though these are not 100% cotton the majority is cotton. Usually when something comes from China it is the size of a Chinese woman. No larger than a size 7. I am an eight and a half and these are awesome socks. When I tried them on they are exactly what I wanted. They seem a quality material and they are a turn-down sock or you can scrunch them a little. I'm considering fine some more just in case something happens and I cannot find them in the future. Because I've been hunting for these for a long time and I didn't think they even existed because most kids and women wear sports type socks and footies. I have a wide foot and they fit comfortably. I like to wear socks around the house to keep my feet clean and warm as I get older. I also always have some kind of foot lotion or vaseline or lip balm on my heels to prevent dry heels so wearing socks it's necessary so I won't get my floor all sticky. I am turning 50 this year. Barefeet is a thing of the past. My feet and ankles swell gradually throughout the day too. I have a full tote of fancy socks of my own and I also inherited lots of socks from my four children when their feet grew past my size 6 feet. I found that their name brand socks are so tight and thick and it's uncomfortable to try to squeeze my feet into my shoes wearing those. I am surprised when I tried these socks. Thin and soft and comfy. Just what I wanted and it's perfect for our San Diego weather. I wore these with my 20-year-old Converse today and no toe seam problems. These socks stayed on all day and I have no sock marks when I took them off at night. I did not have a high expectation for these drug store brand socks when I place my order but I did anyway after I read the reviews carefully. What a pleasant surprise, and at such a great price. Plain white turn cuff socks are hard to find these days. I have no idea, nor do I care, if "bobby socks" are in style or if people are secretly snickering at me behind my back as they sweat into their fungus-infected stinky sneakers with no socks on at all. Me? I like to have clean shoes and socks, and I like for the socks to be thin enough to be comfortable, yet absorbent enough to make a difference. These fit the bill perfectly! No horrid toe seams to pinch, and the cuffs stay up and neat. They are the perfect thing to wear with sneakers in the summer. I got the white ones, which take hot water and bleach nicely, but I'm about to get some black ones so that all that gardening dirt doesn't show. We wore these as kids (yes, I know that shows my age), and for the life of me I don't know why they aren't a standard wardrobe item anymore. Don't wait to get these for a "retro" event to wear with your saddle shoes and poodle skirt. They're comfortable, well-made, and inexpensive. I am diabetic and I'd like to keep my feet for a long, long time; so good foot health is important to me. My feet sweat and I change socks once or twice a day. These are good quality. Seem true to size. Nice cotton and very comfortable. The only thing that may bother some people is that the elastic around the top does leave a mark on your leg. I get it holds them up but I have fairly regular sized ankles and calves and it leaves a mark each time. Still would buy them and recommend them though. Just want people to be aware that it may not be for everyone. Only reason for 4 stars is the slight elastic at the top. ... show more

These socks are perfect for my skin. They are soft and thin. I live in South Florida. There are only a few weeks of "coldish" weather here so thinner socks are more comfortable. The socks stay up comfortably yet they are not tight. This purchase is a good deal.
