Ordered these lawn aeration shoes to aerate mossy patches under trees in the yard. Conceptually, they are very good, and function well for smaller areas. The size of these shoes would fit a larger woman’s foot, such as size 9 and over, as well as men’s feet. For smaller women’s feet, they likely wouldn’t strap properly on the front end. As for ease of use, they do take a little getting used to when walking on the lawn. Pulling them out of the ground when it is softer takes a little bit of effort, but is not too difficult. I tried them when the yard was more dry and hard, and they did not work as well, not sinkinking in very far; yet after recent rains, they sunk into the ground with ease, leaving nice holes for aeration. Overall, these aeration shoes work well for smaller areas of lawn, but may be too difficult to use on a larger yard.

These aerator attachments do work as intended, but I found them a bit tough to get on correctly. Even when strapped properly, they had a tendency to pull off, which made walking around the lawn feel awkward and less stable than I’d hoped. One important tip: check the spikes before use. I missed that note in the description and ended up losing about 4–6 spikes right away because they weren’t screwed in tightly. A quick check beforehand would have saved me the hassle. Also, be aware that the main picture shows shoes, but what you’re actually buying is just the spike attachment. That can be confusing if you don’t read carefully. The straps are pretty strong though and the spikes a solid metal so should stand up to some uses. Overall, they do the job, but expect some setup effort and a bit of patience to get the most out of them.

The aerator shoes are very easy to wear, with a sufficient number of wide straps that securely mount the shoes onto the aerator. They look very natural, just like adding a summer sandal to regular shoes. With good-quality stainless steel nails with pointed ends, they can penetrate the lawn easily to allow air to go in. They are pretty durable so far, with no sign of wearing out after about 1.5 months.

There were not enough bolts to secure all the screws to each shoe. I only had enough complete sets for six nails in each shoe. There also wasn’t a wrench for tightening. They are pretty easy to strap on. They work best and are the most comfortable with my work boots.

The name and description of this product states “no assembly” so I was surprised to see one of the two shoes half assembled. All of the spikes were in, but half of the nuts holding the spikes in place were scattered through the box. The product does come with a spare spike and two spare nuts, along with a wrench. It was easy enough to assemble, and all of the nuts on both shoes were very loose and needed tightened. The size of these shoes is good for small to average size feet. I wear a women’s size 9 shoe and these are roomy but not incredibly oversized. My guess is that it would fit up to a men’s size 11 or so, any bigger might have some difficulty. Overall, the product works well for its intended purpose, and is an easy way to aerate your lawn without needing a large machine or other tool.

These lawn aerator shoes are a fun, easy way to give your yard some love — we just strapped them on and walked around while watering, and our grass is already looking healthier. I really appreciate that the spikes came already installed — I’ve had other versions where putting them on was a nightmare, so this was a big plus. The straps (especially the extra heel and top ones) keep everything secure, and the spikes are solid enough to handle tougher ground. I wear a size 9 and they fit just right, but if you have much larger feet, the Velcro straps might be a bit short. Overall, these are a solid, no-hassle option to aerate without hauling out big equipment.
