Love the new scooper and the spade!! I used to use an old plastic dustpan with a handle and a little hand shovel for cleaning up. That worked when I was 30... Give it a couple extra decades and it became a serious job. Not to mention that the dog portion of the family doubled from two to four. I had been meaning to look for a better clean up solution for years but never quite searched for the right key words for the metal tray with handle. I stumbled upon a few and finally narrowed it down to this one. It had the spade (and a rake) for clean up and the metal tray. Even had some great colors with the blue and black handles!! I've only just put it together and it was super easy. You can swap out the handle sizes for the different tools to meet your needs as they all interchange. Yay! This metal tray is going to work great!! This one is larger than some I saw and smaller than a few others. I thought about going with a 10 - 12 inch tray but liked that this one came with the two tools as well as the tray. Though I haven't used it just yet, it will work great! I've been used to a smaller plastic tray with a much shorter handle. This new one will be heaven!! Plan to use bags on the tray just to keep it a little tidier without having to hose it down each time. The rake won't be used as much as I notice that the rakes are good for grass but kinda cut through some of what is meant to be picked up. The little shovels always scooped easier as long as you got to the point of scooping what was between the grass. We'll see. ;) This new rake could change my mind. It is very sturdy and looks great!! I'm incredible happy at the prospect of less work (and back pain) while scooping!! Update: Finally used the scooper and if I could add another five stars to the first five, I would. A plastic grocery bag fits beautifully over the tray portion and the bag handles tie just in back of the tray handle. Also, the spade is awesome! It is very sturdy and makes scooping a breeze. I read tons of diff reviews before purchasing this. We have a large puppy who is producing quite a bit of waste in our yard. After ordering the highest reviewed scoopers and seeing how tiny they were, I knew it would not work to well for us. This on the other hand is great. First, know that the instructions show that how to hook the handles. They don't tell you that there are THREE different sizes for each one. I let my helpful children put it together the first time, and realized I had an oversized spade, a short "bucket" and a medium sized rake. Thus the holder for them didn't work to well. I had to disassemble, line up the sizes and then pick S/M/L for each one so they all ended up the right size. I guess it could be helpful to have different sizes, but I envision you would have to stoop with one of the instruments no matter what if they aren't equal sizes. A couple of them I had to really work hard to get in. I think the opening was bent a bit with one. It just made me thankful that I actually like this, and don't foresee taking it apart. Finally, I was concerned that people said to just scoop it up, and dump it in a lined waste bin. I might not be ready for a dog, but I can't fathom having poopy residue on my "bucket" all the time. Figured there had to be a solution, and quickly realized there was. 1. Take a normal plastic grocery bag (feel free to try it with something more compostable, but I haven't yet). 2. Slip one of the plastic handle holes over the pole of the bucket, and slide the bag down. 3. Turn the bag inside out, and gently (so you don't tear a hole in the bag, defeating the purpose) pull it around so that the handle meets the other handle on the back of the bucket. The whole bucket should now be covered by the plastic bag. 4. I assume it would stay put, but I had a clothespin lying around, so I just clothespin the plastic bag hand holds together, scoop up the puppy's business, then undo the clothespin, and invert the bag around. Tie it up, and toss it out. Voila! No touching the waste, no poopy bucket, no expensive liners. Win-Win in my book. :) ... show more

These are affordable, lightweight, durable, and store easily. I gave a german shepherd and a golden retriever that create a LOT of poop. This has a large shovel that allows me to pick up a ton of poop at a time. Way better than the grab kind. My mother saw me use mine and instantly pitched one for her house to replace her grabber (junk in comparison). It all clips together allowing it to store easily after we spray it off with the garden hose (no rust yet). It is lightweight, allowing me to carry it with one arm and use the rake with the other.
