I’ve used these for years and would never switch brands. For everyday use, these are super strong and durable, can be connected with other straps if need be, and are color coded by length for ease of identification. My only complaint is that I wish they included one of their gear ties to keep them neatly rolled up instead of the standard packaging twist tie, but otherwise, these things are perfect. ... show more

These are so close to being great... but maddeningly hard to use. There is so little gap when you hold the brake open that it is hard to feed the strap through. Once you do that it is great, but it can take a while.

    • Great quality straps with a smart design.
I've used a lot of different products over the years hauling motorcycles to the trails and the track. I bought a Canoe and needed some new straps and went with these because ratchet straps can get too tight. The system is a little complicated until you get it figured out but once you have it, it's amazing. Having the ability to put the buckle wherever you want it is great for getting it just right. Being able to place it gives you the ability to set it up so you have the best mechanical advantage when cinching it up. My only two complaints are the fact that one of the rubber pads fell off the first time I used it. Not an issue since I'd put the buckle where it wasn't contacting the canoe, and the canoe is old so I wasn't worried anyway. Second is curious that the longer version is cheaper to buy than the shorter version. I bought the long one and then cut it to the length I needed and melted the ends and now it's perfect. ... show more

I'm a huge a fan of Nite Ize innovative high quality products. These straps are no different. I've been using similar straps from Yakima, Thule, and NRS to tie kayaks and canoes cartop for over thirty years and these match or exceed those in workmanship. So why four, not five, stars? Compared to others, the cam is a bit heavy and its release mechanism is sufficiently exposed that if something strikes it while the strap is under tension, it might release. It's unlikely, I admit, but enough to undermine the piece of mind I get with the simpler straps. (My favorite is the Yakima, which has a substantial gray rubber cover that slides over the cam to protect it and your vehicle/cargo from scratches or dents - a concern when you are tossing the cam-end across the roof). ... show more

    • AMAZING Buy 2,3,4 not just 1!!!!!!
I am very frequently using some sort of method to secure large and small items in the bed of my truck. Maybe 2-3 times a week. Just about every time I do so I think to my self as The hooks are falling out of position, or my tie downs are all tangled, that there had to be something out there that makes this process somewhat faster and simpler. I FOUND IT with these simple but amazing tie downs. If your familiar with cam buckles then maybe you’ve been frustrated at the fact that you are always have to find a way to cinch/tighten the straps because to tighten a strap with a normal cam buckle, the strap has to be pulled opposite of you leverage. With these you always are pulling towards you giving you 100 control of how tight you want you load to be. I show these to just about anyone who will listen to me. I freakin love these things and just want to go tie random things down for fun cuz of how much I appreciate the design of how these operate. If you use some sort of strap,rope,or bungie on frequent basis, then do yourself a favor and get a couple of these and you’ll be wondering where they’ve been all your life.
