We removed our old l-shaped couch from our RV because the faux leather was just coming off in small pieces everywhere. We looked at all types of replacement RV couches and recliners everywhere. After removing our old set and based on the fact that we had 80" of room, we finally decided that the Stanford set sold by DCG stores would fit our needs. After placing my order thru Amazon, several days later I contacted Amazon with a request to upgrade the mattress. Amazon contacted the vendor and relayed our request. Allana with DCG stores contacted me and explained the differences in materials, athesitics and details about the construction. We decided on the upgrade after working with her. What a wonderful knowledgeable person she is to work with. Well since this went down without a hitch, everything arrived in about 4 or 5 days. The mattress came first. We waited until we assembled the frame (about 2-hours) which wasn't hard at all and then unpacked the mattress. Instructions say to let it sit for about 48 hours. Within 3 or 4 hours it looks fantastic. The frame is assembled except we haven't attached to the arms as we have to move them into the RV to do that for easier installation. We will install tomorrow morning. We are so excited for this alternative setup since the couch we had from day one was never comfortable as a lot of RV furniture generally is not. Another issue we were concerned about was overall weight. This option is heavy, but not as heavy as trying to fit a 3 seat theater type recliner/couch. We believe that is a cheaper option that looks great and will serve our needs for watching tv or taking a quick nap. Definite upgrade for our RV. Can't praise the DCG folks enough for the reasonably priced and quality pieces that we purchased on Amazon. ... show more

The frame came much faster than expected as did the mattress, Queen size!, about one week. The mattress came just a couple of days after the frame. There were no scratches, chips, mars or anything on the futon frame. The wood was flawless and the color of the futon was exactly as expected. I wouldn't say putting it together was a piece of cake, just a bit tedious as we followed the the directions to the letter! My wife and I assembled the frame in just under 2 hours. Noone has slept on it yet, but the 8" mattress was extremely comfortable to sit and lie on. We loved the mattress color and texture, fudge brown microfiber. I did a significant amount of research on futons (and sofa beds, in fact) before purchasing this, so I know how important reviews are and I wanted to share my satisfaction! I have a small guest room and wanted a comfortable bed for my guests without a queen mattress taking up the entire room, and I wanted the piece to be a solid piece of furniture that complemented the room rather than making it feel dorm-like. I'm so happy I chose this one! The futon frame shipped quickly, and the queen mattress arrived separately a few days later. The frame box weighs a TON, so make sure you plan for how to get it into your place. It's probably easiest to assemble this with two people, but I did it on my own (26 yo female) successfully in a few hours. I wouldn't say the directions are foolproof and incredibly clear, but it went together, and all the pieces were there. Be careful not to force the bolts or you'll strip the metal. Overall, it's really high-quality. It takes two people to raise and lower it, and you have to wiggle it a bit, but it does what it's supposed to do smoothly. The mattress is awesome. Doesn't slide around in couch position. I realized after I ordered it that if you order through the seller's direct site, you can opt for a 10-in mattress, which might be a good choice too, but I'm happy with the 8-in. My mom is visiting this week and gives it high marks for sleeping. You CAN feel the middle support bar when it's flat if you are sleeping directly in the middle, but it's not a big deal, and we put a pretty thin featherbed/comforter between the mattress and the sheets which made it even more awesome. She has a bad back and says it's wonderful to sleep on. The microfiber is soft and cozy. It does have that new smell, but it's not bad unless your face is right next to it, and I'm sure it will go away with time. Overall, I'm so glad I did my research and decided on this one. Not worth the price

It was difficult to put together, had to have a neighbor end up helping me. It took 2 1/2 hours to put together. Someone decided that it would be a good idea to put tracking stickers ON THE FABRIC that it's going to take quite a bit of time to get off. There's white stitching throughout it. Definitely NOT worth the price or the effort. Looks better in the pictures. ... show more

Manufacturer Mistake

The futon arrived in 3 separate boxes days apart. Once we started to put it together the pieces didn’t line up correctly. The black straps attached to the wood for safety on one end of the frame was attached backwards preventing from putting it together. There were also 2 additional pieces in the box that were not in the instructions. Contacted seller and was advised to simply cut the straps as they were not necessary. The why were they in there? Advised 2 extra pieces were for leg support and was on a certain page and it was not. Finally they agreed to accept return. However, to send ONLY one box back would cost me $253.00. At that point I didn’t even check for pricing on the tier 2 boxes from shock at the cost to return the one box alone.So I stuck with this and out over $600.00.. beware ... show more
