Very comfortable to sleep on, I'm told. Comfortable to sit on as well. We have only one issue, and it's not so much an issue as it is a procedure regarding folding it back into a couch. (Going from couch to sleeper is a breeze.) We've found it's easier to slide the mattress about 1/2 way off onto one of the unfolded arms/tables. The frame is then much easier to lift up into the full sitting position. The mattress can then slide back into the frame while you position the mattress so that the seat end part of the mattress is about even with the seat frame and tuck the mattress back into the frame. This will leave the seatback part of the mattress extending way up over the frame, and it's more comfortable for sitting that way. We also put 2 stick on round felt pads per leg which protects our wood floor and makes repositioning easier. We had a sleeper sofa previously, but it wasn't comfortable without a gel pad on top, and we got real tired of storing that gel pad. This futon is at least as comfortable as that, if not more so, and no extra gel pad. The throw pillows we already had, and they happened to match quite well. ... show more

This is a great couch.The frame feels sturdy and the mattress is comfortable. It wasn't difficult to assemble, took about an hour to put together. Amazon ships the product in separate shipments but does not notify the customer of secondary shipments. I contacted the seller and they were very prompt in getting back to me and giving me the second tracking number. Amazon doesn't allow the seller to reach out to customers to let them know of the multiple packages and shipments. Update : Couch is great but the futon mattress is less than desired. Cover cannot be separated from "mattress" as they are sewn together. The "mattress" is just densely packed filling. My pet had an accident on the couch and I am currently frustrated as to how to clean the futon. ... show more

The futon side had a gauge in the arm area which was noticeable. Problem solved immediately. Within 2 business days, a new side was received. It took us approximately 2 hours to put together. You do need 2 people - first to put the sides together and secondly to carry the cushion (quite heavy but more awkward). It is very comfy and when we need it for guests, I'm sure they will be pleased. Do not compare to a sofabed. To me, the sofabed is sooo uncomfortable to sleep on where this futon sofa is very pleasing to the back. You will not even need a foam topper! Good buy!!! Oh, we bought the Hunter Green cushion and it is very rich looking! ... show more

Nice futon. I learned that full and queen use the same frame, but the mattress sticks up kinda high on the queen. Since we will use it 99% of the time as an extra couch, we should have got the full size. We got the queen, it sticks up pretty high.

Futon frame is very sturdy and attractive. We up graded the mattress to opt for more support and cushioning and after sleeping on it for an hour my hips were aching. The mattress that we upgraded to dose not fit well on the frame when it is closed. The mattress does not bend well so it sticks up on the back side and looks poor. wish I could of sent it back but we were expecting guest so kept it. No we do not close the futon because how poorly it looks when the mattress does not bend over the back. ... show more

Wow, talk about disappointment. We purchased this futon sofa in September of 2016, and today, less than one year later, I found cracks on two of its legs. I specifically purchased this expensive futon for its durability. Everyone in my family was surprised that it cost as much as it did, but based on the reviews, I wanted something both stylish and durable to put in our office/guest room. The only two people who've ever sat on this futon has been my son and I. I'm petite, 100lbs, and my son is a 3-year-old and weighs only 35 lbs. We've only sat on it a handful of times, as we prefer to spend our time downstairs in the living room. This futon was intended to be used for the very first time as a bed when my in-laws came to visit. We expect them at the end of July. And suddenly, this morning, I noticed the cracks. I'm very disappointed, especially for how much I paid for this futon. I haven't contacted the seller yet, but plan to do so now. I'll come back for an update. Update! July 15, 2017 I am very pleased to write that the issue has been resolved, and DCG Stores proved themselves to have an amazing customer service. I contacted the store last weekend, the very same day I submitted my review. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard back from them on a Sunday morning. After explaining the problem through email, Cheryl, from DCG stores told me that they would waive the shipping fee and would immediately send replacement arms for the sofa. I received the arms on Wednesday, but we only had time to put the news arms today. The futon looks brand new again, and I'm glad that we were able to replace the damaged arms well before my in-laws' visit. I'm very happy that DCG store took responsibility right away and sent the replacement arms. For that I am changing the previously one star review to 4 stars. (FYI, DCG stores has never prompted me to write reviews nor to update my negative review.) ... show more

I love the look of this - the color - the wood. I just can’t bend the futon mattress to sit in the back so it doesn’t hang over the edge as much. It makes it uncomfortable to sit on. Also - I paid to have it put together
