I actually enjoyed this much more than Super Mario Odyssey, despite reviews generally favoring it over Origami King. I’ve never played any of the paper Mario series games, and this was my first, and I loved it! Also, not sure why this particular listing says that the game is in Spanish; I played it entirely in English, and the game case was also all in English. The only thing I did not like about this game is that the battles started getting really repetitive. Every now and then I enjoy the challenge of the logic puzzle involved in figuring the battles out, but sometimes it reminded me of how Pokémon would pop up too frequently in unavoidable grassy patches before you could use Repels. I digress. The graphics are SO adorable, and the story line is really cute too. There was a part where I even almost teared up because of how emotionally invested I got in these silly characters. It actually seemed pretty deep for a “kids” game sometimes. I ended up beating the game in about two weeks while working full time lol. I’m now tempted to go back and play the other games in the paper Mario series. ... show more

I questioned if my son (9) and I would like this flat Mario after being obsessed with Mario Odyssey and playing it over and over but once we got into this game and figured out what it was all about, we were obsessed. My favorite part is the other challenges within the story play- finding all the toads, the treasures and hitting the blocks. Buying weapons for a unique type of battle I’ve never seen before. Lots of strategy and solving puzzles within the story. After the credits run at the end, you can go back and explore areas you’ve already been to and get 100%. It’s just awesome! It's fun, but nothing can beat Oydessy, as an avid Mario player I was so excited to try out this game. The gameplay and storyline are great! Although it is not similar to The Thousand Year Door it is a great game by itself.

My whole family has played through this game it is that good. With a teenage son who loves fps games I didn't think he would like it. Let's say he got sucked in on a weekend and played it straight through.
