I questioned if my son (9) and I would like this flat Mario after being obsessed with Mario Odyssey and playing it over and over but once we got into this game and figured out what it was all about, we were obsessed. My favorite part is the other challenges within the story play- finding all the toads, the treasures and hitting the blocks. Buying weapons for a unique type of battle I’ve never seen before. Lots of strategy and solving puzzles within the story. After the credits run at the end, you can go back and explore areas you’ve already been to and get 100%. It’s just awesome! I actually enjoyed this much more than Super Mario Odyssey, despite reviews generally favoring it over Origami King. I’ve never played any of the paper Mario series games, and this was my first, and I loved it! Also, not sure why this particular listing says that the game is in Spanish; I played it entirely in English, and the game case was also all in English. The only thing I did not like about this game is that the battles started getting really repetitive. Every now and then I enjoy the challenge of the logic puzzle involved in figuring the battles out, but sometimes it reminded me of how Pokémon would pop up too frequently in unavoidable grassy patches before you could use Repels. I digress. The graphics are SO adorable, and the story line is really cute too. There was a part where I even almost teared up because of how emotionally invested I got in these silly characters. It actually seemed pretty deep for a “kids” game sometimes. I ended up beating the game in about two weeks while working full time lol. I’m now tempted to go back and play the other games in the paper Mario series. ... show more

    • I love paper Mario!
My favorite games are Mario RPG, South Park: fbh/sot, Paper Mario 64, Paper Mario: TTYD, Mother and Pokemon Emerald. This Paper Mario really keeps the grind of turn based RPG interesting. It's not my favorite paper Mario, but it's certainly in my top 3. The scenery and art style are beautiful and the story is pretty great! I beat it over the weekend, but I played about 9 hours all three days. The longest I got stuck on a problem was only about 20 minutes and there are still hundreds of hidden objects that I never collected. 8.5/10. ... show more

Very fun and colorful, full of laughs Among the highest on comedy content in Mario series New battle system and no traditional character levels Bit more brain work for battles instead of just grinding raw power and smashing enemies For new players, never stop getting coins, they will go fast! 10/10 would buy again (personally, don't care for the stickers over the original paper style, but that is me and the stickers are done well) ... show more
