IT WORKS! A MUST HAVE FOR THE NEW NINTENDO 3DS XL!! I dislike that Nintendo doesn't include a charging cable with their new 3DS XL. I purchased two New Nintendo 3DS XL (Galaxy & Black) without knowing that fact -- not purchased on Amazon. Imagine the shock I was in when I opened my new consoles and couldn't find a single charging cable. I initially thought someone had stolen my chargers from both 3DS XL. I was close to returning the consoles, when I caught on the back that it did not come with a charger. I was blown away (in a bad way). How was I suppose to play my 3DS when I couldn't charge it? Luckily, my brother had a spare charger I could borrowed until this charger came. Before purchasing this charger, I had thoughts of purchasing other generic chargers (as they all looked the same). However, I decided to give this charger a try since it was branded for Nintendo 3DS consoles and was slightly cheaper than in store. Already upset that the console did not include a charger, I didn't want to go through the trouble of finding out that a generic charger didn't fit properly or wouldn't work, etc. When the charger arrived, it put it to use right away and returned my brother's charger. It fits and charges both my new 3DS XL properly. It is also identical to the DSI charger my brother lend me. This charger is compatible with 3DS, 3DS XL, and DSI. 5 stars for now unless it just stops working on me later down the road. It arrived quickly and Un damaged .My one flaw is that it doesn't stay in well enough and fits loosely so it's prone to fall out if your trying to strech the cord out you know charge and play at the same time . My last one didn't have this problem I don't think my port is damaged so I assume it's the cord but im not exactly for sure though that's just my opinion so I suggest you read the other reviews and see if they mention the same thing or not . Now for some advice to save you from possible headaches- I bought this because the cord i got with my 3ds just stopped working on me while I had it charging . I have some speculations but I'm not exactly sure of the cause I would suggest tie your cords up loosely so you don't damage it and just consider it more when you charge . where you charge it . like if the outlet may have surge problems or if you should use a surge protector power strip . I was charging it at work and it didn't occur to me this could be a problem and I used one of their outlets and now that I think of it I lost a cell phone at work also while I had it charging. it just started shutting down and I had to replace it . As soon as I would restart it , it would just shut down I'm just sharing this so that it might help you from the same issue . It's not fun having to replace things or waste money. ... show more

Well, the charger itself is fine. I would have liked it if the brick wasn't on the plug so it wouldn't block ports on a strip if you're using the charging dock, or just a strip in general. But otherwise, the quality is fine, the cable is long but not too long, and it charges my New 3DS XL quickly. But why, WHY wouldn't you include it with the New 3DS XL? It's a new system, not an upgrade! Most people buying it that aren't enthusiasts aren't going to have another system that had the same charger! It's a shady tactic to hide the true price of the system all for profit margins. Luckily for them, I won't take off any stars for that, because that's the system's fault, and not the charger.
