  • Great So Far
Size: 60" LED Strip
First Day Review: I bought the 3 row, 60" strips a few weeks back and just installed them last night on my 2016 F150 XLT Super Crew. I liked them so far. Here are some thoughts: - 4-pin Trailer Harness: Before installing anything, I wanted to test out the 4pin harness connection. I opened the box that the LEDs came in and pugged them right into my 4 pin trailer hookup. All the signals and LEDs worked, but there seemed to be a delay. For example, when the flashers were on, the amber lights on the LED strip would come on a split second too late and not finish before another blink was fired. It was off. Next, I drove around for about 20 minutes with the trailer connection and the LEDs in my bed. I kept receiving trailer connecting and trailer disconnected messages. So I did not use the 4pin harness. - Wiring: I did not use the 4pin connector and did not want to splice into the wires in the trailer hookup wiring. Instead, I spliced the wires at the driver's side backlights (for power, left blink, reverse and ground) and the passenger side (for right blinker). I ran new wires down to a central point near the driver's side. I had to do a few searches to find which color wire was what... but once I did it all came together easily. Not sure if this approach was best, but it worked for me. I will need to go back later and make sure the wiring is 100% watertight with some type of a junction box. And I need to add some protective plastic shielding where the wires touch metal. But I just wanted to get this done last night. - Installing the LED Strip: The strip comes wrapped around itself, in a small-ish box. When I was ready to install them on the truck they kept trying to roll back up... this made it tough to do (more about this below). If I was to do this again I would have laid them out for a few hours (or overnight) so they flatten out. Before installing I cleaned the bed thoroughly with soap/water, a degreaser, and made sure it was dry. Once clean I used took time to center the strip and placing a small piece of electrical tape onto the bed of the truck and the strip to know where the center point is in case it moved. I started on the side of the drive, peeling off a little tape. I applied a bead of rtv silicone adhesive to the bed and pushed the stip against the bed, holding it there for a minute or 2. I worked my way across the bed, ensuring it was lined up/even with the bottom of the tailgate (where I thought it looked best. I had some issues with the beginning of the strip pulling up by the time I go to the end. And then I had issues with the end once I went back to the beginning. I ended up jamming a roll of electrical tape on both ends for an hour or so to ensure it stayed. - Overall: They are super bright. That is both awesome and might be weird. Awesome for more visibility to bad drivers around me. And being able to back up with more light is great. Weird because of them just being too obnoxious. If someone in the car behind me is blinded, that sucks. I may need to have a buddy drive the truck while I drive a car to see. Again I dig these so far. I will update with pictures and more thoughts as I have them. ... show more

  • Looks great and easy to install
Size: 60" LED Strip
Was a breeze to install. I didnt want to use the 4 pin and occupy my trailer harness so i cut that off the light and hardwired it in. This doesnt void the warranty as the manufacturer instructs you to do so on the instructions included if the harness doesnt fit. Took me about 1 hour but its not my first time. Very bright. Comes with some clip hardware to secure but i didnt want to screw anything so i picked up additional ziptie mounts as a backup to the adhesive strip on the lights. Make sure to use alcohol and clean where you plan to stick it and a warm day or heat gun is best for adhesion. Once you push it on it felt really stuck. I'll update when it fails but was just installed today. ... show more

  • Good, but could be better
Size: 60" LED Strip
The lights are bright and visible. Installation was simple. The only negative thing is the turn signal sequencing only displays from the center outward only part way, not the length from center to end.

  • Better and brighter than I had hoped.
Size: 60" LED Strip
This works great! Better visibility in inclement weather. The lights work as promised and are easy to install. I bought an installation kit to hard wire into the existing lighting and had my truck service shop do the install when I did normal scheduled maintenance. The tech was as impressed as I am. The adhesive has not come undone in hot weather and seems well affixed during winter. On the mountain roads with blind curves, drivers behind me are able to see my lights reflecting in the snow and know I am ahead, just around the bend. The amber turn indicators are well visible. The double row of white reverse lights are unmistakable in broad daylight. Backing out of parking stalls is easier because there is absolutely no way other drivers to not see the lights. The lights look like they belong there and not like some "Hokey" add-on. I am pleased. ... show more

  • Not so good
Size: 60" LED Strip
I bought these strips for my 2021 Ram truck and I was disappointed when I saw that you had to use your 4 pin connector to make these work. 1st problem is that it is not a straight flat area under your tailgate to make them stick, you will have a wavy strip and your lights will not look straight. 2nd issue is that you have to tape it with the wires starting from driver side making it unable to reach your 4 pin connector. I will not splice my wire in my tail lights because then you risk possibilities in getting error codes in your truck if the ecm detects a voltage drop in your wiring. 3rd is that the white reverse light only worked for less than one hour then stopped working. 4th the lights do have a small delay when you turn your signals on, I could deal with that. 5th problem was, and not so bad, that you do have to unroll it and let it sit out for a day so it won't keep rolling back up on you. They do provide small plastic staples that you can screw into your truck to hold them down, but then you risk your truck to start rusting out at some point. 6th was a shipping issue, it stated that if I ordered within the 6 hour clock frame that was ticking, that I would recieve them the same day, lie, it arrived 2 days later. The only thing I did like about these lights was that they are super bright and at night you can see them well. It is a shame they can't make it plug and play into your tail lights with water proof connectors. I sent mines back the next day for a refund. ... show more

  • Nice light set.
Size: 60" LED Strip
Easy application just peel and stick. I used two of them, one on each side of the back of my RV for higher visibility brake and turn signals. Wired both sides of each light bar’s turn signal wires together and the turn signal runs full length on each side! BIG improvement in visibility and road safety! Massive improvement over the little tail/brake lights originally on my camper! ... show more

  • Functions Inconsistently(Read Detailed Review)
Size: 60" LED Strip
So when I first installed the tailgate bar. I had no initial issues as some reported upon installation on their truck. I installed it on my 2021 Toyota Tundra. Very easy to install. I think it would be better to purchase solid model such as the Opt-7 instead of one you have to unroll. On the Nilight Light Bar the adhesion of the 3M tape doesn’t stick as well. You have to apply more pressure and keep straightening out the light bar for it to stick well. At first after watching a few install videos on YouTube I was thinking I would have to install the Redline Trailer module in line with my 7 pin trailer plug and Nilight Tailgate Bar. I went ahead and used the the Curt Trailer 7 pin to 4 pin wire harness. The 4 pin connector connected to the plug on the tailgate bar and I soldered the Reverse Light wire from the tailgate bar to the middle pin wire of the 7 pin trailer connector. The first day it worked. The LEDs a very bright especially the reverse light. The next day when it rained it was malfunctioning. When I would turn the left or right turn signal on the Red Running Light(bottom row LEDs) would blink. The Amber LEDs wouldn’t light in a sequential pattern. Do the following day I realized I had to tighten the 4 pin connector of the light bar and wire harness. I also sealed small spaces I saw between connectors with silicon to prevent water from seeping through and I re-taped everything with fresh black electrical tape. After that even when I drove it in the rain, freezing rain and snow no issues. However recently yesterday(2/19/2021) and today (2/19/2021) I noticed the operation of the lights on the tailgate bar were off. There were no sequencing of turn signal LEDs, didn’t light when Hazards were turned on, the running red LEDs worked, but would blink when the hazards were turned on or if the turn signals were turned on.(Video is attached. It’s lengthy but it shows malfunctioning). I found out this all occurred not because of the snow or rain but it was because I switched my truck from 2-wheel to 4-wheel drive. When I switched back to 2 wheel drive there were still issues. I turned the truck on and off a few times to see if it reset anything. It didn’t. Later during the day when I turned on my vehicle to travel again for a 4th time that day, all the LEDs worked like they were supposed to. I’m really thinking of either returning this light bar after inspecting all my connections again or just buying another one. I don’t think Nilight will be swift in responding to this issue seeing that other people complained about protest weren’t resolved. I might end up going with purchasing the Opt-7 Tailgate Light if I have more issues. I have videos of them working and malfunctioning, but they’re too long I’ll have to shorten them and post them later. ... show more
