I installed my strips as accent lighting for my newly remodeled deck, tucking them under the hand rail, oriented downward. Turned out pretty sweet and only cost me about $60 to do my entire deck with stairs! You'll have to get a Power Supply Driver Transformer, which you can also find on amazon for pretty cheap (I used "Ledwholesalers 30 Watt LED Power Supply Driver Transformer 120 to 12V" and it works fine). You may also want to get some strip-to-strip connectors if you want to make turns with the strips ("LED PCB Connector- 2 Conductor, 4pcs, Strip to Strip, Any Angle"). These help quite a bit if you're not especially electrically savvy. (Note: If you use these connectors with the waterproof strip, you'll have to peel back a bit of the silicone waterproofing to expose the strip in order to get them to go into the connector) One thing I did to "stop" the strip at one spot and then "continue" them at a spot a bit further away was to cut a connector right in the middle of the wire, then splice the exposed part of the wire with some cheap "doorbell wire" I found at Home Depot. Then you can run the doorbell wire to your next start point and splice the other half of the connector in order to start your next strip. (Hard to explain with words, but it works well) ... show more

Bright, easy to cut, easy to peel back the circuit layer from the waterproof covering so you can get to the solder pads after cutting. I've installed these beneath my kitchen cabinets and they work great, though I did have to add some VHB tape to the backing in order to keep them from falling down during the day when I let the temperature climb to the upper 70s inside. I think it's worth noting how bright these are, and the color temperature. When I first put them up I was reminded of 80s lighting (cool white), though I've gotten used to them now. I'll probably be sending slightly less than 12V to these to bump down the brightness a bit, and I do wish they were a warmer color temperature, but considering the title says "pure white" I only have myself to blame on that one. ... show more

So far these LED lights worked real well for me. I used it to light up my entertainment system that way I don't have to use a flashlight to hook up cables and it's also useful for when the power went out it lit up the living room well. Only annoying thing is that the UPS kept beeping when the power went out. Here is what I used to connect it to the LED lights 10pcs 2Pin Quick Connector to DC Female Adapter Cable for 5050 LED Light Strip and I just used a old power adapter I had from a old corded phone I saved. My only complaint it's not real sticky on wood even after cleaning the area. ... show more

Very nice lights. They are inside of a silicone type tape. Very flexible and seem to be waterproof as everything is surrounded by silicone. I installed these with zip ties under the bed rails of my truck and couldn't be happier. I did use the adhesive to stick it to the front bulkhead and am wondering how well it will hold up based on other reviews. The lead wires are extremely small so I stripped twice as much as my butt splices take and folded the bare wire back in half to get some extra girth. . ... show more

    • Great Lights at a Low Price
Very consistent color across the entire strip. I couldn't find even minor differences between the lights. The sticky side of this strip is pretty much useless unless you put in on something completely flat and made of plastic. I used this to create undercarriage and trunk/engine bay lighting for my car (I used epoxy to glue it on). After riding around for a couple months I have to say that these strips have held up very well, and I would gladly buy some more if I ever need more lights. ... show more

Wasnt sure what to expect, I bought these to light up a builtin cabinet. I paired it with http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AHU2U7O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKSI0S8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it is everything I wanted. I will say, it is at the peak of suitable brightness in a dark room at the lowest level. Without the dimming function, these would be too bright for a dark room. These are great. Very bright. For custom lengths, buy extra connectors. Singles are great but double-ended connectors can be cut in half to make two singles ends and each can be spliced to light gauge bell wire to run back to power. I like to stagger the cuts and fold the twisted ends in opposite directions so bare wires never overlap and then seal with heat-shrink tubing to make neat tight splices. Use an appropriate pulse width modulated (PWM) dimmer for great control. ... show more

I love these! What a great deal! VERY flexible and VERY bright! They completely light up a room and run on anything! I hooked them up to a jump pack that I use to start my cars and lit up half the house for 6 hours while the power was out! Since then, I cut the end off an old wall wart that put out 12 volts and 500 ma and it easily lights the whole string! I highly recommend these and plan on buying some more! ... show more
