Every part is aluminum with steel brackets. Actually pretty impressive! Very easy to do a good job installing and mounting all the parts with the numerous included mounting options. Note: I ordered mine from amazon warehouse for a discount. Was probably returned for the following flaw-At first it was flashing each output one time when the car was turned on/acc powered. But I emailed the nilight customer support from their website and, after sending them a video of the flashing, they sent me a new one which works perfectly. I used one of the 5 amp outs to run a relay for a 200w light set. The other outputs work great for several roof mounted LED floods. The one weird quirk that remains- is the backlights only come on when you activate a light. You CAN also power the 1st pin on the 3 pin plug where ACC goes to toggle through two levels of backlight and off. But it doesnt come with the wiring or instructions for that. The second pin doesnt activate the backlight unfortunately. If you want the switches to light when the vehicle lights come on, you can wire the 1st pin to something which is powered when the headlights are on. Each time that wire is powered it will toggle the light level but you wouldn’t even notice most of the time and its better than nothing.

(Original review below. This one is an update) So I bought this I believe less than a year ago. And it worked great up until a couple of days ago it just up and quit working. All I run is a small front light bar and I wired up heated mirrors. I was going to wire some other things like a DC to DC charger and whatnot but that's now out of the question. The unit appears to work in the fact that the control panel lights up at night when you push a button and the red light telling you whichever button is on comes on and goes off but no power is sent to any of the accessories I have wired up. The fuses are good and I even bypassed the circuit breaker it came with and still nothing. I haven't checked yet to make sure that power is getting to and past the fuses or not but I will when I get back to work with a multimeter. I highly doubt it is though and I highly doubt that the only two accessories that it runs 💩 the bed at the exact same time. This New review will stay 1 star unless this is rectified which after reading a lot of the reviews, I am not holding my breath. I have not installed it yet. But I am actually pleasantly surprised that all of the brackets and the switch unit itself are all made of metal. For whatever reason I thought they were going to all be plastic. Especially for the price. The one and only bummer I have is I bought this to wire up my aftermarket side mirrors on my truck for the heated mirrors and for wiring up some led pods on the back so I can see when backing at night. And for other future projects. Maybe if anyone is reading this they could point me in a direction for a sticker for heated mirrors I would appreciate it. Otherwise I gotta have a blank one or aux one. Which idk just triggers my ocd.

This switch panel is awesome and a must for anyone who has or is planning on adding lights or other accessories to their vehicle or boat. I have a Chevy Colorado and have added 2-function cube lights to my bull bar, a light bar and cubs to my sport bar and RGB rock lights (all from Nilight). Originally, after installing the cubes and light bar, I installed a 'toggle' switch bank to control them which was a hassle. First, I had to do some creative wiring to get the 2-function cubes to work properly. The bigger issues were, between the in-line fuses and resisters, as well as the wiring, it was getting a bit 'cluttered' under the hood and I had to run multiple wires from the engine compartment, through the cab, to the center console. With the way the 8-gang switch panel is designed it cleans things up and makes installing lights and accessories a bit easier. The main switch box installs under the hood and contains fused connectors with relays; allowing you to 'cut out' any relays and inline fuses that may come with the lights or accessories you are installing. Additionally, all the wires from you lights and accessories get connected to this box; there is only a single, relatively thin cable you run from the switch box under the hood to the switch control pod you mount somewhere in reach of the driver .. making routing and hiding wires much easier. Overall, the installation was straight forward and easy; the overall quality and design is great, I would highly recommend.

Edit: I contacted Nilight and they sent me a new one. That one is working great at the moment. As long as it continues to work great I’m going from 2 to 4 stars. It’s a clean system and install. I’ve had it about a year and it hasn’t stopped working. The problem I have and why I’m going to eventually replace it is that when starting the vehicle, it gives everything power for a split second. So all the lights flash and everything hooked up gets a surge of power, on every start. I’m looking to add e-lockers to my truck soon, and I really don’t want to keep powering them every time I start. I wish there was some information about this, but I can’t find anything and NiLight never responded to my email questions about if this was normal behavior or a defect.

I bought this switch after returning an Auxbeam switch that didn't work at all. I installed everything per the instructions, the install is fairly simple, the switch is in a (Can Am Maverick X3), however, when I connected my side mirrors w/lights, to the controller panel,they looked like they were on, even without the car turned on, it's like there was a residual power going to the controller, the lights come on fully when the circuit they are on is turned on, however, they never go off completely. this is an obvious issue as it will continually drain the battery. These xprite side mirrors worked fine when I had them hooked to the rocker switch, so it has to be the controller. I also have my particle separator connected to the controller and it does not do that, it only comes on when the switch for that circuit is activated. I gave it two stars because it could be a good controller, if it worked correctly, I am interested to see how good the two year warranty is? ***UPDATE*** I wanted to update my review of this product. After contacting Nilight customer service and explaining the problem I was experiencing, and a quick video of the issue, they sent me a whole new controller. Once I installed the new controller, all the issues described above went away. I want to say kudos to the Nilight customer service team, they did a great job of listening to the issue and rectifying it in a timely manner.
