I use this set up for my for my Triggers on custom made amp and feature designs. Thay are easy to plan into the design. I use to have a tech that when he installed HID Lighting he always added Relays for voltage drops to keep a constant 12v. I like the fact these are 5 Stade and allot of systems need the off pole to energize (ie: alarms rimers etc.. super easy to mount & plan & add when you forget to plan. ... show more

***UPDATE*** I was able to get it to work with the following wire color combination; Black - 85 - Ground White - 86 - 12v Battery Red - 30 - 12v Switched Power (Trigger wire) Purple - 87 - Load side / device I found that the color locations differed from what I have with other brands of relays. Maybe they shipped some correctly but the pigtails I received only work with the above combination. Relays arrived this afternoon and I was wiring up Nilight LED lights for my four wheeler. I opened the box to find one of the wiring harnesses had already been used. The ends had been stripped and the harness was attached to the relay. The other 4 appears to be new. My box did not include any type of instructions or user guide as described by the manufacturer and other customers. So I took to Google and searched what pins go to what. According to what I found; Red - 12v positive from the battery Black - ground Blue - wire for lights to get their power White - switched 12v source. After soldering and shrink wrapping my connections I found that my lights won’t turn on. As stated by others, it appears that the wires from the harness are incorrect in my case. When applying 12v switched power the relay does nothing. I will try the following tomorrow as suggested by others to see if it’s bad wires or if I got someone’s returns. Yellow - not used in my application Blue - LED light/switched device Red - 12v Constant/Battery White - Ground Black - 12v switched source I will update my post with my findings. ... show more

    • Does what is suppose to do.
I wired it to turn on my LED light bar and rugged radio only when ignition key is on, so no more worries of forgetting to turn off the radio which drained my battery and also no need to connect a trickle charger if not used for a while.
